Publication: Mizancı Mehmed Murad’ın “Devr-i Hamîdî Asarı” adlı bibliyografik eserinin transkripsiyonu ve değerlendirmesi
Abstract
19. yüzyılın Osmanlı düşünce ve fikir hayatının önemli şahsiyetlerinden biri hiç şüphesiz Mehmed Murad’tır. Osmanlı Devleti’nin içinde bulunduğu buhran, dönemin diğer fikir adamları gibi Mehmed Murad’ı da çareler aramaya ve çöküşü önlemeye yönelik çalışmalar yapmaya itmiştir. Sisteme dair eleştirilerini önce çeşitli gazetelerdeki yazılarıyla sonrasında da sahibi olduğu Mizan Gazetesi’sinde hararetli yazılarıyla dile getirmiştir. Güçlü bir kalemi olan Mehmed Murad siyasî, toplumsal ve edebî eserlerin yanı sıra tarih, tiyatro ve edebî tenkit sahasında da eserler vermiştir.Eserleri arasında en ilginci ve tezimize de konu olan “Devr-i Hamîdî Âsârı” adlı bibliyografik eseridir. Tezimizde II. Abdülhamid’in saltanatının ilk 15 yılında İstanbul’da basılmış 3594 kitabı konularına ayırarak müellifleri ve basım tarihleriyle anlattığı bibliyografik eser incelenmiştir. Sahasında bir ilk olan bu bibliyografya eseri sayesinde II. Abdülhamid döneminin kültürel iklimi, yazarlar, kitaplar, kitap türleri, baskı tarihleri gibi birçok teknik konu ışığında değerlendirilmiştir. Bibliyografyanın matbuat tarihi çalışmalarına katacağı bütüncül yaklaşımla dönemin panaromik bir okuması yapılmıştır.
It is beyond any doubt that Mehmed Murad is one of the most important figures of the 19th century Ottoman intellectual life. The crisis in the Ottoman Empire pushed Mehmed Murad and the other intellectuals of that period to search for remedy and to work to prevent the collapse. He expressed his criticisms about the order first at various newspapers and then he moved to his own newspaper called Mizan where he expressed his criticism passionately and fervently. Mehmed Murad was a good writer and besides his political, social and literal works he also produced several works in the field of history, theater and literary criticism.His bibliographic work named “Devr-i Hamîdî Âsârı” is one of his most interesting works and the subject of our thesis. The thesis analyzes the bibliographic work where 3594 books, published in the first 15 years of the II. Abdülhamid’s regime in Istanbul, are separated into their subjects and it gives information about their authors and publication dates. Thanks to this bibliographic work, which is a first in its field, the cultural climate of the II. Abdülhamid period has been evaluated in the light of many technical subjects such as authors, books, book types and printing dates. A panoramic reading of that period has been made with an integrated approach that the bibliography will add to the history of press studies.
