IX. yüzyılda ortaya çıktığı düşünülen Nusayrilik (Arap Aleviliği) kimilerine göre bir mezhep kimilerine göre ise bir yaşayış biçimidir. Nusayrilik akidesine bağlı olan insanlar kendilerini Arap Alevisi olarak tanımlamaktadırlar.
