Abstract
ÖZEL GİYİM TASARIMINDA HACİMSEL ANLATIMGiyim tasarımının tarihsel sürecinde yeniye/ farklı olana ulaşma konusundaki arayışlar her zaman varlık göstermiştir, ancak 20. yüzyıldan başlayarak, işlevselliğin yanı sıra deneysel yaklaşımın ve sanatsal anlatım dilinin de önem kazanmasıyla, bu alandaki arayışların değişimi dikkat çekici boyuta ulaşmıştır. Bu süreçte alışılmış anlatım biçimlerinin dışına çıkan çağdaş tasarım anlayışı. hissedilmeye başlamış, 20. yüzyıl öncesinde yenilik. olarak kabul edilen etkiler başkalaşım göstermiştir. Sanatsal hareketlerin ve teknolojik. gelişmelerin etkisiyle, giyim tasarımında deneysel yaklaşım 21.yüzyılda gelişerek, bir arayış olmaktan çok anlatım biçimi olarak şekillenmeye devam etmektedir.Çalışma, çağdaş giyim tasarımında hacim konusu ele alınarak, bu alanda üretilmiş örneklerin sınıflandırılmasına ve değerlendirilmesine odaklanmaktadır. Geniş bir araştırma alanı olan giyim tasarımı, hacim ve deneysellik ilişkisi konusunda yapılacak yeni araştırmalara kaynak oluşturmak amacını taşımaktadır.Konu 6 bölümde ele alınmıştır. Birinci bölümde, günümüz giyim tasarımında hacimsel anlatımın gelişim sürecinde rol oynayan deneysel yaklaşımlar ve malzeme arayışlarının tarihsel gelişimi örnekler üzerinden anlatılmıştır.İkinci bölümde; giyim nesnesi yaratılırken kullanılan hacim oluşturma yöntemleri ele alınarak sınıflandırılmış, görsel örneklere yer verilmiştir.Üçüncü bölümde; hacim, giyim nesnesinin insan bedenine uzaklığı üzerinden tanımlanarak ve ilgili görsel örnekler ile desteklenerek sınıflandırılmıştır.Dördüncü Bölümde; giyim nesnesinde hacimsel anlatımın beden üzerindeki kullanım bölgeleri saptanmış, sınıflandırılmış ve görsel örneklere yer verilmiştir.Beşinci bölümde; giyim alanının çağdaş sanat pratikleri ile etkileşimi üzerine genel bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır.Altıncı ve son bölümde ise, çalışma kapsamında hazırladığım “Doku, Katman ve Zaman” adlı çalışmalarım yer almaktadır.
VOLUMETRIC EXPRESSION IN CLOTHING DESIGNThere has always been a search for the new/ different in the history of costume design. Yet, from 20th century onwards changes in these search reached to a considerable level with the advent of artistic expression beside functionality. A modern understanding that broke the routine predominated within which the “New” is questioned. The effects that were considered as innovation before 20th Century began to metamorphose. As a result of artistic movements and technological progress, experimental approaches of the 20th century are continuing to develop in 21st century so that experimentalism in costume design has become a style of expression itself rather than a search.The present work elaborates on the issue of volume by focusing on classification and evaluation of examples in the field. It thereby aims to constitute a source for further research on the relation of costume design volume and experimentalizm within a broader context.The work consists of 6 chapters. The first chapter presents the history of the search of material and experimental approaches through examples which took role in the development of volumetric expression in contemporary costume design.In the second chapter, methods of volume formation in creation of object of clothing are classified. An evaluation is done by visual examples.The third part predefines the concept of volume through the distance of the object of clothing to human body. Relevant visual examples are used in order to present a classification.The fourth chapter identifies and classifies regions of body where volumetric expression in object of clothing is applied. Visual examples are used to explain.A general assessment on the interaction of clothing and practices of contemporary art is presented in the fifth chapter.The last and sixth section consists of my work entitled “Texture, Layer and Time” as part of my thesis.
