Publication: The effectiveness of training programs for increasing the motivational level of employees
Abstract
Bu çalışmanın temel amacı eğitim programlarının çalışanların motivasyon seviyelerini arttırmadaki etkisini ortaya çıkarmak ve etkili eğitim programları alan çalışanların çalıştıkları ortamlarda daha yüksek iş motivasyonu gösterdiklerini ifade edebilmektir. Bu çalışmanın içeriğinde, motivasyon teorileri çerçevesinde iş motivasyonu ile ilgili genel kavramlar ve şirketlerde verilen eğitim programları ve uygulanış şekilleri tartışılmıştır. İş motivasyonu ve eğitim programları arasındaki ilişkiyi açığa çıkarmak amacıyla hazırlanan anket bir şirkette uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın hipotezi etkili eğitim programları alan çalışanların daha yüksek motivasyon seviyelerine sahip oldukları şeklinde doğrulanmıştır. Bu araştirma, organizasyonlarin yönetiminde gelecek başarisi için önemli olan iki konuyu ele almiştir. Yönetim ve idari amaçlar için bir organizasyonun çeşitli bölümlerinde hangi çalişanlarin egitim ihtiyaçlari oldugunu tespit etmek, çalişanlarin şirket genelinde verilen egitim programlari hakkindaki düşüncelerini ögrenmek ve verilen egitimlerin degişik yönlerini inceleyerek etkinlikleri analiz etmek çok yararlidir. Bu baglamda yaratilan egitim testi pratik uygulamasiyla Türk şirketlerinde uygulanan egitim programlarinin etkinligini degerlendirmeye hizmet edebilir. Ayrica, geliştirilen motivasyon testi yöneticilerin çalişanlarin motivasyon seviyelerini tespit etmedeki isteklerine degişik motivasyon faktörlerini analiz ederek katkida bulunabilir. Bugüne kadar geliştirilen ve yorumlanan enstrümanlar arasinda egitim ve motivasyon arasindaki ilişkiyi inceleyen az sayida Türkçe kaynaga rastlanmiştir. Ve bu çalişma bu konudaki açikligin giderilmesine katkida bulunarak faydali olabilir.
The main purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of training programs for increasing the motivational level of employees and show that employees who are directed to effective training programs express higher levels of job motivation in their workplaces. Within the context of this study, the theoretical framework based on motivation theories, general concepts related to job motivation and training programs supplied in organizations and the way they are applied have been discussed. For exploring the relationship between job motivation and training programs, a questionnaire has been developed and applied in a company. The research hypothesis was confirmed in the way that employees who received effective training programs had higher levels of job motivation. This research covered the relationship between two important topics in management for the future success of organizations. For management and administrative purposes, it is very useful to find out which sections of an organization and which employees need training programs, learn the employees opinions about the company wide training programs and analyze their effectiveness through investigating different aspects of training. The development of training test may contribute to this area and serve for investigating the effectiveness of training programs in Turkish companies with its practical usefulness. Besides, the development of motivation test may serve for the manager's desire to access the motivational levels of employees through analyzing different motivation factors. However up to now, a few number of developed or adapted instruments to measure the relationship between motivation and training have been available in Turkish, and this study may contribute to this area and may fill this gap.
