Publication: TRT ve BBC’nin anahaber bültenlerinin kamu haberciliği açısından karşılaştırmalı analizi
Abstract
TRT ve BBC' nin Anahaber Bültenlerinin Kamu Haberciliği Açısından Karşılaştırmalı Analizi başlıklı tezimiz, günümüzde kamu televizyonları ve de özellikle kamu televizyonlarında haberciliğin taşıdığı önem gözönünde bulundurularak hazırlanmıştır. Bu sebeple araştırmada, TRT ve ilk kuruluşunda örnek aldığı BBC'nin anahaber bültenlerindeki haberlerin karşılaştırmalı bir analizi yapılmış ve sözkonusu yayın kurumlarının izleyiciyi bilgilendirme, yani kamu hizmeti yayıncılığı görevini yerine getirmesi konusu irdelenmiştir. Tezde önce haber üretimi ve haberlerin seçimi konularına teorik olarak yaklaşılmış, ardından BBC ve TRT'nin kamu hizmeti yapan birer kuruluş olmalarından dolayı kamu hizmeti yayıncılığının oluşumu, gelişimi ve temel prensipleri incelenmiştir. TRT ve BBC'nin kuruluşları, haberciliklerinin oluşumu ve gelişimi ve bu kurumlardaki haber üretimi ve denetim mekanizmaları incelendikten sonra iki televizyon kanalının 19-25 Ocak 1998 tarihleri arasındaki bir haftalık anahaber bültenleri önce niceliksel analiz, ardından niteliksel analiz yöntemiyle incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda TRT'nin özerk bir yapıya sahip olmamasından dolayı haber bültenlerinde kamu yararından çok iktidarın yararını gözettiği ve TRT1 ve BBC 1'in anahaber bültenlerindeki haberlerin seçiminde batı tipi habercilik değerlerinin geçerli olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.
Our thesis called A Comparative Analysis of the News Bulletins of TRT and BBC With Respect to Public Service Broadcasting has been prepared with the consideration of the importance of public service broadcasting organizations and their role of giving news to the public in our day. Therefore a comparative analysis of the news in the main news bulletins of TRT and BBC has been done in our research, and how well these institutions conform to the role of giving information to the society, which is a public service broadcasting principle is assessed. First the subjects of the manufacture of news and the selection of news are analysed theoretically, and then the formation and principles of public service broadcasting are examined. After looking at the formation and production of news and control mechanisms in TRT and BBC, the main news bulletins of the two organizations between the dates 19-25 January 1998 has been analysed using first quantitative, and then qualitative analysis methods.The results of the analysis has shown that due to the fact that TRT 1 is not independent in its structure, has been in line with the interests of the ruling elite rather then the public it serves in its news bulletins, and both TRT 1 and BBC 1 have used western news values in the selection of the news in their news bulletins.
