Publication: A project management approach utilisation of a multinational company
Abstract
ERP, organizasyonun tüm birimlerinin bütünleştirilmesi ile beraber tüm işlemsel verilerin girilip, izleneceği ortam oluşturarak, organizasyona işlevsel yararların yanı sıra ticari avantaj sağlar. TPS sistemlerinin en gelişmiş hali olan ERP, daha üst seviyedeki sistemlerin kurulumuna getirdiği kolaylık açısından, bilgi teknolojisinin bel kemiği durumundadır. Araştırmalar göstermiştir ki, bir uygulama projesi kimi zaman beklenmeyen ve eskisinden daha kötü bir ortam ile tamamlanmış olabilir. Bazı durumlarda uygulama başarı ile tamamlanmış olsa da, herzaman daha kullanışlı, daha etkin ve avantajlı bir uygulama yapabilme olanağı vardır. ERP sistemini daha yararlı bir ortam olarak sunabilmenin gereği iyi planlama ve analizdir. Bu tezde üç yıllık iş sistemleri analizi ve ERP uygulama deneyimi, proje yönetimi, ERP uygulama teknikleri ve ERP sistemin diğer sistemlerle olan ilişkileri birleştirilmiş, başarı ve başarısızlık nedenleri de değerlendirilerek incelenmiştir. Standart bir firmanın mevcut durumu ve ihtiyaç analizi ile başlayan örnek çalışma bu gereksinimlere bilgi sistemeleri çözümleri uygulamakla devam etmektedir. ERP uygulama çalışması bir proje olarak ele alınıp, proje yönetimi bilgisi ve yöntemleriyle desteklenmiştir.
ERP, keeping the track of transactional data with full integration of different units of an organisation, provides valuable operational benefits in addition to competitive advantage. As the most developed TPS system, ERP is the backbone of an information system providing a ready environment for executive information systems. Observations proved that, an application package implementation could easily end with an unexpected situation even worse than the initial. For some cases the result can be viewed as success however there is always the probability that it could have been more useful, more satisfying and advantageous. Turning ERP system into more beneficial environment requires perfect planning and analysis. In this thesis three years of business systems analysis and ERP implementation experience combined with research on project management, ERP methodologies developed and its relation with other systems including success and failure reasons. Case study of a typical company has performed starting with the analysis of current situation and requirement analysis, continued with information systems solutions. The ERP implementation handled as a project heading to the know-how and methodology of project management.
