Publication: Dil-zihin bağlamında Kasr üslûbu
Abstract
The thought occured in the mind comes into existance in the external world through language. Language is the translator of thought in the mind of human because it has definite indications. By virtue of this function of language, talker transfers its thoughts/ emotions to interlocutor. Therefore, it seems that words have a structure that helps transfer the thoughts/ emotions rather than being merely sounds. A talker actualises the meaning that corresponds to its thought/ the message he wants to give, by means of finding the appropriate words in its language and accommodating them with the grammatical structure of the language. In this regard the style of ‘kasr’ is examined withing the frame of muqtezâ hâl (the necessity of the context). The situation of the interlocutor, the thought of talker and the environment of speaking that is effective in the selection of this style are analyzed. In this way, the style of ‘kasr’ is discussed in terms of psycho-social aspect that takes place between talker and interlocutor. Firstly, the gramatical aspect of Arabic language is mentioned. Secondly, the goals of talker, who sticks by the rules of grammar, in using this style are extracted. The issue of muqtezâ hâl (the necessity of context) which ensure that words have a literal quality is actively considered in the style of ‘kasr’ and the literal value of this style is uncovered.
