Cinsiyetin bilgisayar tutumu üzerindeki etkisi: bir meta analiz çalışması

Abstract

CİNSİYETİN BİLGİSAYAR TUTUMU ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİSİ: BİR META ANALİZ ÇALIŞMASI Bilim ve teknolojinin buluştuğu en önemli icatlardan olan bilgisayarların, insan hayatında gün geçtikçe giderek artan bir öneme sahip oldukları ve insanların bilgisayara karşı olan tutumlarının yıllar içinde geliştiği görülmektedir. Toplumu oluşturan iki temel unsur olan erkek ve kadın bireylerin bu gelişimle birlikte bilgisayara karşı nasıl bir tutum sergiledikleri ve cinsiyetin bilgisayar tutumunu ne yönde etkilediği pek çok araştırmanın konusu olmuştur. Bu araştırmanın amacı, meta analiz yöntemi kullanarak, cinsiyetin bilgisayar tutumuna olan etkisini konu alan çalışmaları derleyerek cinsiyet faktörüyle bilgisayar tutumu arasındaki ilişki ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma, cinsiyetin bilgisayar tutumuna etkisini belirleyebilmek için yapılmış olup literatür taraması sonucu çalışmaya uygun olarak bulunan 47 çalışmanın meta analiz yöntemiyle birleştirilmiş sonuçlarını içermektedir. Buna göre cinsiyetin bilgisayar tutumuna yönelik etki büyüklüğü 0,107 olarak bulunmuştur. Bu değer sonucunda erkek bireylerin kadınlara göre daha olumlu bir bilgisayar tutumu sergiledikleri, bununla beraber tutumlar arasında Cohen’in sınıflandırmasına göre küçük derecede, Thalheimer’in sınıflandırmasına göre ise önemsiz düzeyde farklılıklar olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. It has been the subject of many studies that how the gender affects the computer attitude and with this improvement what sort of an attitude the two elements that make up the society, men and women, show towards the computer. The purpose of this research is to produce the relationship between computer attitude and gender factor by compiling researches about the effect of gender to computer attitude using Meta analysis method. The research is made to determine the effect of gender to computer attitude and it contains the results of 47 studies that are found appropriate by a literature search, combined by meta analysis method. According to this, the effect size of gender to computer attitude is found 0,107. By this value it’s concluded that; male individuals are showing more positive computer attitude compared to females and also there is a small amount of difference between the attitudes according to Cohen’s classification and ignorable amount of difference according to Thalheimer’s classification.
