Gürcistan Batum’da coğrafi gözlemler

Abstract

Yerleşim birimlerinin gelişim ve şekillenmesi ile coğrafi şartlar arasında ilişki olduğu bilinmektedir. Türkiye’nin kuzeydoğusunda yer alan Gürcistan içinde yer alan Acara Batum şehri; Türkiye ile aynı sınırı paylaşması, Türkiye’nin Kafkaslar üzerinden Orta Asya’ya açılan kapısı olması, bu şehirde yaşayanların bir kısmının Türk ve Müslüman olması bakımından önemli bir konuma sahiptir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’nin kuzey doğu sınırında yer alan Gürcistan’ın Acara Özerk Cumhuriyetine bağlı Batum şehrinin coğrafi araştırma ilkeleri doğrultusunda incelenerek elde edilen bulguların bilimsel bir bakış açısı coğrafyacılar ile paylaşılmasıdır. Araştırmada kullanılan veri ve bilgiler literatür taraması ve arazi gözlemlerinden elde edilmiştir.Gezi gözleme dayalı saha çalışması yöntemine göre yürütülen bu çalışmada öncelikle araştırmacı inceleme yapılan coğrafi bölgeye ait sayısal verileri hem resmi kaynaklardan hem de literatür taramasına dayalı olarak incelemiştir.Çalışma, Batum şehrinin sahip olduğu coğrafi şartların, beşeri ve ekonomik faaliyetleri nasıl etkilediğini araştırmak üzere kurgulanmıştır. Yapılan gözlemler çerçevesinde Batum şehrinin “iklim koşulları, yüzey şekilleri, bitki örtüsü ve bitki örtüsünün genel özellikleri ve kıyı şeridi” doğal şartlar kapsamında; Batum’un beşeri şartları ise “nüfus, yerleşme, ekonomi, turizm ve ulaşım” başlıklarında incelenmiştir. Batum şehrinde nüfusun gelişim süreci, yerleşmenin genel özellikleri, S.S.C.B. dönemi ve sonrası yerleşme ve yapılaşmanın genel özellikleri, ekonomik faaliyetler ve şehir morfolojik yapısı ve gelişme istikametleri, liman ve turizmin şehir gelişimine etkisi gibi başlıklarla ilgili gözlemlerde bulunulmuştur. Bu gözlemlerden elde edilen bilgiler literatür analizinden elde edilen veriler ile ilişkilendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yapılan gözlemlerden Çoruh Nehri’nin adeta Batum’u şekillendiren ve hayat veren bir doğal unsur olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Ayrıca Batum’un iklimi, yüzey şekilleri gibi fiziki coğrafya unsurlarının ticaret, tarım, turizm faaliyetleri ile ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Çalışmada Batum’da yapılaşmanın ve yerleşmenin iklim ve coğrafi şartlar dikkate alınarak tasarlanmaya çalışıldığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ekonomik faaliyetleri canlandırmak amacıyla Batum’da farklı ve özgün stratejiler ve eylem planlarının uygulandığı dikkati çekmektedir. Ayrıca coğrafi gözlemlere dayalı elde edilen sonuçlar çoklu ve ilişkisel bakış açısı ile ele alınarak araştırmacılara ve konu ile ilgilenenlere yönelik bir takım öneriler geliştirilmiştir.

It is known that there is a relationship between development and shape of settlement units and geographical conditions. Batumi located in northeastern Turkey and sharing the same border with Turkey, Batumi has Turkish and Muslim population and is Turkey's gateway to Central Asia via Caucasus. All these make it a prominent location. The aim of this study is to examine Batumi, a city neighboring Turkey's northeastern border and is in Georgia's Adjara Autonomous Republic, in line with scientific principles of geographical examination and to share the findings with geographers with a scientific perspective. The data and information used in the research were obtained from literature review and field observations.In this study carried out according to the field study method based on trip observation, the researcher firstly examined the numerical data of the geographic region both from official sources and literature.The study is carried out to investigate how the geographical conditions of Batumi affect human and economic activities. Within the framework of the observations, “climatic conditions, surface shapes, vegetation and general characteristics of vegetation and coastline” of Batumi are examined within the scope of natural conditions, and the human conditions of Batumi are examined under the headings “population, settlement, economy, tourism and transportation”. Observations were made under such headings as population development process in Batumi, general characteristics of settlements, S.S.C.B. period and after, the general characteristics of settlement and construction, economic activities and urban structure and development directions, the impact of port and tourism on the development of the city. The data obtained from these observations were correlated with the data obtained from the literature review.It was understood from the observations that the Çoruh River is a natural element that shaped and brought Batum to life. In addition, the relationship between physical geography elements such as climate, surface shapes and trade, agriculture and tourism activities of Batumi were examined.In this study, it was concluded that the settlement in Batumi was designed considering the climate and geographical conditions. It is also noteworthy that different and unique strategies and action plans are implemented in Batumi in order to stimulate economic activities. In addition, the results obtained based on geographical observations were handled from multiple and relational points of view and a number of suggestions were developed for both researchers and interested parties.
