Publication: Sürdürülebilir Gelişmeyi Sağlamada Stratejik Bir Araç: Mahalle Kooperatifleri
Abstract
Even though the concept of sustainability was used in the field of forestry in the 1700s and since then it has created a global agenda, it is a concept as old as the history of humanity. The relationship between cell and organ health applies to the relationship between social structure and administrative system as well. Therefore, neighborhood, which is considered the smallest building block, is the first and the most important requisite of creating healthy and livable spaces. However, in order to ensure sustainable development, there is a need for a mechanism, where people sharing a collective space can establish social, economic, and administrative consociations. We believe that this mechanism is 'neighborhood cooperatives'. This paper suggests the concept of 'neighborhood cooperative' which can assume a strategic role using SWOT analysis method
