Publication: İşletmelerde geleceğe yönelik finansal performans ölçümü olarak ekonomik katma değer (EVA) momentum yöntemi ve Borsa İstanbul (BİST) ana metal sektörü üzerine bir uygulama
Abstract
İşletmeler için finansal performans yönetimi ve ölçümü finans teorisinde kritik önemle üzerinde çalışılan konulardan biri olmuştur. Finansal başarı ve başarısızlığı tayin etmek için işletmelere ilişkin finansal verilerin çeşitli araçlarla analizi ve yorumlanması geliştirilmiş olup günümüze kadar yaklaşımların genişletilmesiyle değer analizine kadar ulaşmıştır. Bu araçlardan biri olan Ekonomik Katma Değer (EVA) analizi finansal muhasebe çevreleri tarafından önemle üzerinde durulan genel kabul görmüş bir yaklaşım haline gelmiştir. Özellikle EVA Momentum en yeni iş performansı ölçüsü olarak son yıllarda işletmeler için etkili bir başarı kriteri olarak tanıtılmıştır. Çalışmada, EVA Momentum’un ortaya çıkma süreci ve gelişimi araştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın devamında Türkiye’de Borsa İstanbul Ana Metal Sanayinde faaliyet gösteren işletmeler üzerinde EVA Momentum performans ölçütü amprik yöntemler çalıştırılarak ele alınmış ve işletmelerin gelecek performanslarının belirlenmesinde etkisinin olmadığı ve diğer geleneksel finansal performans ölçülerine göre bir üstünlüğü olmadığı ortaya çıkmıştır.
Financial performance management and measurement for businesses has been one of the critically studied topics in finance theory. It has been developed by analyzing and interpreting financial data related to businesses with various tools in order to determine financial success and failure, and has reached the value analysis by expanding the approaches until today. Economic Value Added (EVA) analysis, which is one of these tools, has become a generally accepted approach that is emphasized by financial accounting circles. In particular, EVA Momentum has been introduced as an effective success criterion for businesses in recent years as the newest business performance measure. In the study, the emergence process and development of EVA Momentum were investigated. In the continuation of the research, the EVA Momentum performance measure on the companies operating in Borsa Istanbul Main Metal Industry in Turkey was handled by using empirical methods and it was revealed that it has no effect on the determination of the future performance of the businesses. And it has not had an advantage over other traditional financial performance measures
