E-commerce technology emerging over ERP technology

Abstract

Son günlerde elektronik ticaret ve kurumsal portal pazarı geniş endüstri alanına yayıldı. Bu çözümlerin isimleri, açıklamaları, bu çözümleri sunan yazılım ürünleri, sağladıkları özellikleri henüz çok anlaşılır değil. Bu tezde elektronik ticaret ve kurumsal portal tanımlamaları yapılacak, çeşitleri ve özellikleri incelenecek. Bu bilgiler bir organizasyon icin elektonik ticaret ve portal çözümlerinin avantajları hakkında değerlendirme yapmaya yardımcı olacaktır. Elektronik ticaret ve kurumsal portal çeşitleri ve şirket üzerinde kurulmuş olan mevcut bir veritabanına faydaları incelendikten sonra, mevcut bir ERP uygulaması uzerinde kurumsal portal oluşturma örnekleri incelenecektir. Bu örnekler ön ofis portal sistemleri ve erp uygulamalarının beraber nasıl calıstığına dair açık fikir verecektir. Ayrıca son kullanıcı açısından erp sistmleri ve portal sistemleri arasındaki arayüz farkları incelenecektir. Bir organizasyon yapısı içerisinde olası departmanlar için portal modelleri olusturulmuştur. Bu modeller departman için olası görülen iş akışlarını kapsamaktadır. Bu tez ile, erp sistemi üzerinde çalışan şirketlerin, organizasyonlarını bir adım daha öteye taşıyabilmeleri için bilgi veren bir rehber görevi görmek amaçlanmıştır. E-commerce and enterprise portal market has evolved into a broad industry segment. The name and definition of the solution, the breadth of the market vendors offering software products, the number and types of features offered by these software products- all very confusing. In this thesis e-commerce and enterprise portals are defined to provide enough information which would help to make an initial evaluation regarding the advantages of an e-commerce and portal solution in an organization. After defining types of e-commerce and enterprise portals and their possible benefits to an existing database of a company, configured examples of an enterprise portal over an ERP application are shown to give clear idea on how the interface between front office portals and erp applications on the background work. Also their user interface differences will be analyzed in this section. Examples of possible portal configurations for different departments are modeled in this section, which shows how it handles business process flows for different business units in a company. In this thesis, it is aimed to serve as a guide for companies which already have an enterprise resource system running, and which plan to put their company one step further technology.
