Abstract
Objective: In this study, it was aimed to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool that can measure nurses' self-efficacy for enteral nutrition practices. Material and Methods: This study, which was applied in this methodological design, was conducted in a public university hospital in Istanbul with 302 nurses between October and November 2022. The item pool of 98 items was presented to the expert opinion. Expert opinions were evaluated by LAWSHE analysis. A 60-item draft form was prepared. The construct validity of the scale was evaluated with exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. Cronbach's Alpha value for the internal consistency reliability of the scale; Spearman Brown and Guttman values were used to determine the reliability of the two halves. Results: Exploratory factor analysis showed that the scale had a two-factor structure that explained 44,74% of the total variance. It was determined that the factor loads of 37 items ranged from 0,37 to 0,75. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, x2/ df value for model fit was 2,10 and fit indexes were RMSEA=0,056; GFI=0,80; IFI=0,89; CFI=0,88; NFI was found to be 0,80. Item-total correlations were found to be between 0,35 and 0,77, and a significant difference (p<0.001) was found between the upper and lower 27% slices. Cronbach's Alpha coefficient for the whole scale was 0,94; Spearman Brown coefficient 0,78; The Guttman coefficient was found to be 0,78. Conclusion: The Enteral Nutrition Practices Self-Efficacy Scale developed for nurses is a valid and reliable measurement tool.
