Finansal entegrasyonun Etiyopya ekonomik büyümesine etkisi

Abstract

Bu tez finansal entegrasyonun ekonomik büyümeye etkisi analiz ediyor ve finasal entegrasyonun Etiyopya ekonomik büyümeye etkisi ampirik olarak inceler. Bu konuda analiz yapan çeşitli araştırmacılar farklı sonuçlar buldular. Çoğu araştırmacının sonucu olumlu bir etksisi gösteriyor. Ancak çok az olumsuz bir etkisi işaret etmektedir. Benzer şekilde çok az sonuçlar çift yönlü olduğunu göstermektedir. Dahası literatür bu farklı sonuçlarını dört temel hipoteze ayrılmıştır. Temel hipotezler arz yönlü, talep takip eden, çift yönlü ve bağımsız hipotezlerdir. Bu hipotezler finansal entegrasyonun ekonomik büyümeye farklı rolünü işaret eder. Her hipotezler çeşitli araştırma sonuçlarıyla desteklenmektedir. Araştırma sonuçlarının zıt olmasının temel nedeni ülkelerin finansal entegrasyonun seviyeleri ve finansal sermaye akışlarının bileşimi farklılıktır. Üstelik son yıllarda ortaya çıkan finansal krizler araştırmacılar arasında finansal entegrasyonun avantaj ve dezavantaj konusunda yoğun bir tartışmayı atşledi. Bunula birlikte çoğu iktisatcı araştırmacılar finansal entegrasyonun ekonomik büyümeye faydalı olduğunu destekler. Bu nedenle bu tez bölgesel veya küresel finansal entegrasyon Etiyopya ekonomik büyümeye nasıl etkili olduğunu inceler. Analiz sonucu finansal entegrasyon Etiyopiya ekonomik büyüme üzerinde olumlu bir etkisi olduğunu göstermektedir.

This paper analyzes theoretically the impact of financial integration on economic growth and empirically examines the influence of financial integration on Ethiopian economy. Various researchers find different results of their analysis. The outcome of most researchers indicates the effect is positive while quite a few numbers of them suggest a negative influence. Similarly, few of them propose that the relationship is bidirectional. Furthermore, literatures categorize this effect into four basic hypotheses. The hypotheses are supply leading, demand following, bidirectional, and independent. These hypotheses suggest different role of financial integration in economic growth. All of them are supported by several research results of various researchers. The main reason of contrasting research results is variation of countries in financial integration levels and composition of financial capital flows. Moreover, the financial crises that occur in recent decades ignited an intense argument among researchers on the advantages and disadvantages of financial integration. However, most economists consent that financial integration promotes economic growth. Therefore, this paper examines how the regional or global financial integration is affecting Ethiopian economic performance. The result of this analysis shows that financial integration has a positive impact on the performance of Ethiopian economy.
