Atatürk Kitaplığı süreli yayınları sayısallaştırma çalışmalarının teknik ve yönetimsel analizi

Abstract

“Atatürk Kitaplığı Süreli Yayınları Sayısallaştırma Çalışmalarının Teknik ve Yönetimsel Analizi” adlı bu çalışmada, Türkiye’nin en zengin süreli yayın koleksiyonlarından birisine sahip olan Atatürk Kitaplığı’ndaki süreli yayınların sayısallaştırılması projesi incelenmiştir. Bu araştırma ile genel olarak sayısallaştırma hakkında bilgiler verilerek, sayısallaştırma çalışmalarının gereksinimleri, aşamaları, teknik ve standartları incelenmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında ayrıca, ülkemizin alanındaki ilk sayısallaştırma çalışmalarının başında gelen Atatürk Kitaplığı’nda bulunan süreli yayınların sayısallaştırılması için kurulan sistemin yapısı; sayısallaştırma işlemleri esnasında dikkate alınan hususları, sayısallaştırma aşamaları anlatılmış ve sistemin başarılı ve başarısız yönleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma, Atatürk Kitaplığı örneğinde sayısallaştırma projelerinin gelişen bilişim teknolojilerinin imkânları ışığında daha sağlıklı yürütülmesi için yapılan teklif ve değerlendirmelerle tamamlanmıştır.

This study, which is titled “The Technical and Administrative Analysis of the Digitisation of Periodicals in Ataturk Library”, examines the digitisation project of the periodicals in Atatürk Library which has one of the richest collections of periodicals in Turkey. After giviving some general information on digitisation, this research analyses the digitisation studies in terms of their requirements, steps, techniques and standards. Following this part, the study addresses the structural system established for the digitisation of periodicals in Atatürk Library, as the leading project in its field among others in Turkey, and the points taken into account over the processes of digitisation together with its related steps. By doing so, the study aims to determine the positive and negative aspects of the system. Finally, the research here concludes with comments and suggestions for the implementation of such digitisation projects under better conditions in the light of opportunities of increasingly advanced information technologies.
