Publication: Türkiye’de Bankacılık Sektörünün Çevreye Etkisinin Çevresel Kuznets Eğrisi Hipotezi ile Ekonometrik Açıdan İncelenmesi
Abstract
Sanayileşme ile birlikte üretimdeki artış çevreye salınan karbon-dioksit emisyonunda artışa sebep olmuş, bu durum da zamanla çevre üzerinde negatif etkiler doğurmuştur. Çalışmanın amacı dünyadaki ge-lişmelere paralel olarak Türkiye’de Çevresel Kuznets Eğrisi’nin geçerlili-ğini, bankacılık sektörünün etkilerini de dikkate alacak şekilde analiz et-mektir. Bunun için 1968-2017 yılları arasındaki karbondioksit salınımı, enerji tüketimi, bankacılık sektörü toplam aktiflerinin GSYİH’ya oranı, GSYİH ve GSYİH2 değişkenleri ile oluşturulan veri seti analiz edilmiştir. Tüm serilerin yıllık frekansta olduğu analizde öncelikle birim kök testleri yapılmış, serilerin tamamının birinci derecede durağanlaştığı görülmüş-tür. Daha sonra Johansen Eşbütünleşme Testi yapılmış ve serilerin uzun vadede eşbütünleşik olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The increase in production along with industrialization has led to an increase in carbon emission, which in time has caused negative effects on the environment. The purpose of study is to research developments in the world in parallel to the effects of the validity of the Environmental Kuznets Curve in the banking sector in Turkey with econometrical analysis. For this purpose, carbon dioxide emission, energy consumption, ratio of banking sector total assets to GDP, GDP and GDP2 variables were analyzed between 1968-2017 years. In the analysis where all series are in annual frequency, unit root tests were performed firstly and all of the series were found to be stationary at the first level. Then Johansen Cointegration Test was performed and it was concluded that the series were cointegrated in the long term.
