Değerler eğitimi bağlamında Araba Sevdası romanının Türkçe öğretiminde kullanılabilirliği üzerine bir inceleme

Abstract

Araştırmada Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem’in Araba Sevdası romanı değerler eğitimi bağlamında incelenmiş ve bu eserin Türkçe öğretiminde kullanılabilirliği araştırılmıştır. Eserde değer yargılarından kopmuş ve bilinçsiz bir şekilde batılılaşmaya çalışarak dejenere olmuş Tanzimat dönemi toplumu, Bihruz Bey tiplemesi üzerinden eleştirel bir dille anlatılmaktadır. Eserde yer alan değer çatışmasının toplumsal hayattaki yansımasını görmek ve göstermek için bir geçiş dönemi eseri olan Araba Sevdası’nı değerler eğitimi bağlamında incelemeye gerek duyulmuştur. Bu çalışmada aşağıdaki sorulara cevap aranmıştır:1. Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem’in Araba Sevdası romanında hangi değerler yer almaktadır?2. Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem’in Araba Sevdası romanı değerler eğitimi bağlamında Türkçe ders kitaplarında nasıl kullanılabilir?3. Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem’in Araba Sevdası romanındaki değerler, Schwartz Değer Kuramı’na göre nasıl bir dağılım göstermektedir?Araştırmada doküman incelemesi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Eser (4. Baskı, 2019) İletişim Yayınlarından temin edilmiştir. Başta Türkçe olmak üzere çeşitli derslerin öğretim programlarından ve MEB’in yayınladığı Değerler Eğitimi Yönergesinden hareketle belirlenen 52 değer Schwartz Değer Kuramı doğrultusunda gruplandırılmış ve Araba Sevdası bu sınıflandırmaya göre incelenmiştir. Eserde tespit edilen değerlere ilişkin tablolar oluşturulmuş ve değerlerin işleniş sıklığı tabloda belirtilmiştir.Araştırma sonucunda Araba Sevdası’nda Schwartz Değer Kuramı’na göre en çok işlenen alt değerlerin akıl yürütme, özgür düşünme, estetik, planlı olma, hedef belirleme ve nezâket olduğu görülmüştür. Romanda en az işlenen değerler adalet, hayâ, kanaatkârlık, tutumluluk, temiz olma ve komşuluk olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada vatanseverlik değerine ilişkin herhangi bir veriye ise rastlanmamıştır

Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem’s novel Araba Sevdası was examined in the context of values education and it was investigated its usability in Turkish teaching in the research. The society of the Tanzimat period which was detached from value judgments and degenerated by trying to become westernized unconsciously, was explained critically through the characterization of Bihruz in the novel. In order to understand and demonsrate the reflection of the value conflict in social life in the novel, it was necessary to examine Araba Sevdası, which was a transitional novel, in the context of values education. It has been sought an answer for the following questions in this study:1. What values are included in Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem's novel Araba Sevdası?2. How can Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem's novel Araba Sevdası be used in Turkish coursebooks in the context of values education?3. What kind of distribution do Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem's novel Araba Sevdasıshow according to the Schwartz Value Theory?Document analysis technique was used in the research. The novel has been obtained from İletişim Publications (4th edition, 2019). The 52 values that determined based on the curriculum of various courses, notably Turkish, in addition to the Directive of Values Education published by the Ministry of National Education, were grouped in line with the Schwartz’s Value Theory and thus, Araba Sevdası has been analyzed according to this classification. Charts have been created for the values identified in the novel and the frequency of processing values was indicated in the charts.As a result of the research it was observed that the most processed sub values in Araba Sevdası according to Schwartz’s Value Theory were reasoning, independent thought, aesthetics, planning, defining goal and courtesy. The least common values in the novel were justice, modesty, frugality, thrift, cleanliness and neighborhood. There was not found anydata on patriotism in the study.
