Abstract
II. ABDÜLHAMİT DÖNEMİ İSTANBUL SANAYİİ Osmanlı imparatorluğu kapitalizm öncesi son büyük ekonomidir. II. Abdülhamit kişiliği ve icraatlarıyla hala tartışmalara konu olan son büyük Osmanlı Sultanı’dır. II. Abdülhamit döneminde İstanbul’da yapılan sanayi yatırımlarını konu alan bu çalışma döneme ilişkin yüzeysel yaklaşımları dışlamaktadır. Özellikle II. Abdülhamit sanayii desteklemiştir. Buna karşılık sanayi doğal ve beşeri etmenler tarafından da zaman zaman engellenmiştir. Tekstil ürünleri, askeri sanayi, ticaret, ulaşım ve hammadde sanayi yatırımlarında önce çıkan unsurlardır. Birçok sektörde sanayi yatırımı yapılmıştır. Devletin sağladığı teşviklerle beraber özel sektör yatırımları ön plana çıkmıştır. Zor bir süreçten geçen Osmanlı ekonomisi içinde bir kısmı uzun ömürlü olamasalar da sanayileşme açısından önemli adımlar atılmıştır. Ayrıca imalat sanayi için farklı yollar da denenmiştir. Çeşitli imtiyaz ve teşvikler sağlanmıştır.

II Abdulhamit, who is still subject to debate with his personality and practices, is the last great Ottoman Sultan. This study, which subjects to industrial investments in Istanbul during the term of II. Abdulhamit, excludes the superficial approaches of the term. Especially, he has supported the industry. None the less, industry has been prevented time to time by natural and human factor. Textile, military industry, trade, transportation and raw material industry have been came to the fore. It has been made industrial investments in many sectors. Private sector investments and incentives provided by the state came to the fore. Important steps were taken in terms of Ottoman industry which was in a difficult process. Also, it has been tested different ways for manufacturing industry. It has been provided various concessions and incentives.
