Abstract
TEZ ÖZETİ “Osmanlı Döneminde Kudüs’teki yabancı okullar (XIX Yüzyıl)”çalısması tarihi bir sorun ve gelişme olarak ele alınmıştır. Tezimiz eğitim sorunu ile ilgili değil, eğitim faaliyeti arkasında gizlenen siyasi etkinlikleri ortaya koymayı amaçlayan bir tarih araştırmasıdır. Bu çalismada Osmanlı Devleti döneminde Kudüs’te tesis edilen yabancı okullarda eğitim faaliyetleri, etkinlikleri ve daha sonra bıraktığı olumsuz sonuçları ortaya çikarmaya çalistik. Araştırmamız girişten sonra iki ana bölümden meydana gelmektedir.Giriş bölümünde Kudüs’ün coğrafi, siyasi ve toplumsal durumu hakkında bilgi verildi. I.bölümde Osmanlı döneminde yabancı okulların açılması, bu okulların yönetim şekli, Ögretim kadrosu, finansmanı, faaliyetleri yanında bu okulların açılmasını ve çogalmasini sağlayan gelişmeler özellikle azınlıklara tanınan haklar, yabancı ülkelere verilen Kapitülasyonlar ve Osmanlı Devletinde Misyonerlik faaliyetlerinden geniş bir şekilde bahsettik. Daha sonra Osmanlı Devleti’nin bu okulları denetim altına alma çabaları ele alındı. II.bölümde ise XIX. yüzyılda Kudüs’te tesis edilen yabancı okullar hakkında en geniş bilgiyi vermeye çalıştık. Kudüs’te açılan yabancı okullar sırasıyla Fransız, İngiliz, Alman, Rus, Amerikan, İtalyan, İsveç ve Avusturya okulları eel alındı. Çalışmamız esnasında konumuz ile ilgili var olan kaynakları gözden geçirdikten sonra okullar hakkında verilen bilgilerin büyük bir kısmı Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivi belgelerinden temin ederek onlardan mümkün olduğu kadar istifade etmeye çalıştık.
The thesis titled Foreign school during Ottoman Empire in Jerusalem (XIX. th century) has been discussed as a historic problem and historic advance. Our thesis not only is a problem of education but also is a historical study which purpose to explain the activities behind the education. In the thesis we tried to declare educational activities in foreign schools which had been established during Ottoman Empire. And also we tried to declare their effetion and their negative results. Our thesis consist of an introduction and of two main chapters. In the introduction, has been given information about geographical, political, social position of Jerusalem. In the first chapter we explained the opening of foreign schools during Ottomans and the management of these schools, and teaching stuff, and their financial sources and their activities. Also we explained development that provide to be open these schools and to be enlarge and especially the rightfull of minority has been studied. Caputilation and missonary works has also been studied. After that the tries of Ottomans to control these schools has also been studied. In the second chapter we try to inform about foreign schools which had been put up in Jerusalem. The foreign schools which hed been established in Jerusalem has been studied one after another the French, English, German, Russian, American, İtalian, Sweden and Austrulian schools. During our study by reading the suorces, we has taken the large quantity of our acknowledgements from archives of ministry. The archives documents which has been used during the study has been introduced in added section.
