II. Meşrutiyet dönemi İstanbul basınında II. Abdülhamid ve dönemi algısı (1908-1910)

Abstract

Kitlelere hitap etme konusu tarihin her döneminde, yönetimi elinde bulunduran iktidarlar için önemli bir uğraş alanı olmuştur. Kitlesel iletişim tarih boyunca farklı araç ve unsurlarla gerçekleştirilmiştir. 19. yüzyıla gelindiğinde ise kitlelere ulaşmada kullanılan en önemli araç hiç şüphesiz gazeteler olacaktır. Bu çalışmada, Osmanlı tarihinde basının belki de en etkin olduğu 1908-1910 yılları arasında gazetelerde yer alan haberlerden yola çıkılarak, tartışmalara günümüze değin uzanan II. Abdülhamid döneminde ve devamında gelecek olan II. Meşrutiyet döneminde Osmanlı basınının II. Abdülhamid'e karşı dönemsel olarak değişen algısı incelenmiştir. Değişen algı, II. Meşrutiyetin ilanından önce, II. Meşrutiyetin ilanından II. Abdülhamid'in tahttan indirilişine kadar geçen sürede ve II. Abdülhamid'in tahttan indirilişinden sonra olmak üzere üç farklı dönemde II. Abdülhamid ve dönemine yönelik basında çıkan haber ve eleştirilerle ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır.

The subject of addressing the masses has always been an important challenge for the governments who hold the administrative power in every period of history. By the 19. century, the most important tool used to reach the masses will undoubtedly be the newspapers. This study covers the period between 1908 and 1910, when the press was perhaps most effective in the ottoman period. This study examines the periodically changing perception of the Ottoman press against Abdülhamid II in second Constitutional Era and during the period of Abdülhamid II which had been controversial until today. The changing perseption has been tried to be presented through criticisms in the newspapers about Abdülhamid II and his rule in three different periods, before the proclamation of the second Constitutional Monarchy until the dethronement of Abdülhamid II and after Abdülhamid II's being dethroned.
