Abstract
Bu çalışma edebiyat ve felsefenin kuvvetli bağlarından yola çıkarak, Tanzimat dönemi Türk düşüncesinde ahlak düşüncesini romanlar bağlamında ele almaktadır. Tanzimat dönemi Türk düşüncesi hem modern Batı düşüncesi hem de klasik İslâm düşüncesi ile ilişki içerisindedir. Roman edebi bir tür olmanın yanında aynı zamanda bir düşünce ürünü olarak da kabul edilmiştir. Roman yazarları romanı ahlakı düzeltmek için bir araç olarak kabul etmişlerdir. Bu düşünce romanların içeriğine de etki etmiştir. Romanlar, Tanzimat dönemi Türk düşüncesinde toplumsal, sosyal ve düşünsel amaçlar taşımışlardır. Tanzimat dönemi ahlak düşüncesi de klasik ahlak düşüncesinin yanında yeni ve modern bir ahlak düşüncesini topluma yaymaya çalışır. Roman da bu bakımdan ahlak felsefesinin önemli bir taşıyıcısı olmuştur. Bu düşünce özellikleri nedeniyle çalışmamız ilk dönem Türk romanlarında ahlak felsefesini ele almakta ve bu romanları İslam ahlak felsefesinin temel kavramları ekseninde analiz etmektedir. Based on the hypothesis that there are strong connections between philosophy and literature, this dissertation analyzes the Turkish thought during the Tanzimat period by examining the novels of that time. The Turkish thought in the Tanzimat period is both related to the modern Western thought and classical Islamic thought. Novel has been accepted not just a literary genre but also a philosophical work because the Turkish novelists have considered novels as tools in order to restore the moral values of society and the consideration takes effects on novels’ contents. Therefore the novelists of that era had social and philosophical purposes as well as literal ones. Ethics in the Tanzimat period is a combination of classical ethics and modern ethics and the novelists of this period tried to impose this new ethical understanding to the society. Due to such characteristics of novels, I discussed the ethics in the initial period Turkish novels in this dissertation and analyzed the novels in the context of the essential concepts of Islamic ethics.
