Une etude comparative sur la traduction en français de “sessiz ev” D’Orhan Pamuk

Abstract

ORHAN PAMUK’UN “SESSİZ EV” ADLI ESERİNİN FRANSIZCA ÇEVİRİSİ ÜZERİNE KARŞILAŞTIRMALI BİR ÇALIŞMA Bu çalışmada amaç; Fransızca öğretiminde çeviri derslerinde, karşılaştırmalı sözlükbilim çalışmalarına yeni bir örnek oluşturmak ve bu örnek doğrultusunda yabancı dilde deyim ve atasözü bilgisi eğitimini, çeviri metinleri üstünde gerçekleştirmektir. Orhan PAMUK 2006 yılında Nobel Ödülünü alan ilk Türk romancısıdır. 1983 yılında İstanbul’da yayımlanan ikinci romanı “Sessiz Ev” sayesinde, 1984 yılında Madaralı Roman Ödülü’nü kazanmıştır. Münevver Andaç tarafından yapılan Fransızca çevirisi 1991 yılında Avrupa Keşif Ödülü’nü almıştır. Türk ve Fransız edebiyatı için oldukça önemli bir eser olduğundan, çalışmamız, romanın ve çevirisinin karşılaştırılmalı bir analizi üzerine dayandırılmaktadır. Romandan seçilen deyim ve atasözleri üzerine yoğunlaştığımız bu çalışmada, orijinal metin Fransızca versiyonu ile karşılaştırılmış ve bu iki metin arasındaki eşdeğerlilik incelenmiştir. Çevirisi en zor deyimlerin ele alındığı bu analiz sırasında, bazı atasözü ve argo kullanımlardan da örnekler verilmiştir. Her deyim, orijinal metin içinde yer aldığı cümleyle birlikte bir tablo içine yazılmış ve doğru değerlendirilmesi açısından Fransızca çevirisi de yanında verilmiştir. Bu inceleme sırasında, çevirinin yetersiz kaldığı ya da hatalı çeviri olduğu durumlarda yeni öneriler de sunulmuştur. Sonuç olarak, yaptığımız bu karşılaştırmalı çalışma, deyimlerin dil sınıfında nasıl öğretileceğine ve nasıl çevrileceğine yönelik yeni bir yaklaşım ve metot geliştirmiş ve bu doğrultuda uygulanabilecek öğretim teknikleriyle, dil sınıfında deyimler eğitim ve öğretimin yaygınlaşması hedeflenmiştir. The aim of this study is to create a new exemplar to use on the comparative lexicology studies in French translation lessons. For this purpose, the idioms and proverbs in French are taught using the translated texts. Orhan Pamuk is the first Turkish novelist who won the 2006 Nobel Prize. His second novel Sessiz Ev, which is published in 1983 in Istanbul, won the Madaralı Novel Prize in 1984. The French version of this novel La Maison du Silence which was translated by Münevver Andaç won Europe Discovery Prize in 1991. Because of its importance for Turkish and French literature, our study is based on the comparative analysis of the novel and its French version. During the study focused on the idioms and proverbs chosen in the novel, the original text and its French version are compared and equivalence between two texts is examined. Among the idioms most difficult to translate, we also used some examples from proverbs and argots. Every idiom is written in a chart with its original sentence and in order to evaluate correctly, its French translation is also given beside. In this study that we analyzed the idioms and some proverbs chosen from the Sessiz Ev, we compared the idioms between the original text and the French version and evaluated the correspondence between two texts. During this investigation, in cases of incorrect and/ or insufficient translations, new proposals are suggested. Finally, our comparative study offered a new approach and method about how idioms can be taught and translated in language classes. Using these teaching methods which can be practiced during lessons, we focused on expanding the education and instruction of idioms and proverbs in language classrooms.
