Sancaktepe (İstanbul) ilçesi'nin beşeri ve ekonomik coğrafya özellikleri

Abstract

Sancaktepe İlçesi’nin Beşeri ve Ekonomik Coğrafya Özellikleri adlı bu çalışma şehrin özelliklerinin yeterince açıklanması bakımından beşeri ve ekonomik coğrafya metodolojisiyle hazırlanmış bir yüksek lisans tezidir. Tez çalışması 3 bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde ilçenin genel özellikleri ve konumu giriş kısmında bahsedilmiş, ilçenin üzerinde kurulduğu fiziki coğrafya şartları ayrıca ele alınmıştır. Bu bağlamda yerleşmenin fiziki özelliklerine değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde ilçenin beşeri ve ekonomik coğrafya özellikleri kapsamında; öncelikle yerleşim yerlerinin tarihsel gelişimi üzerinde durulması uygun görülmüş, ilçenin stratejik konumu ve tarihi güzergahları ve yoğun nüfuslanması sebebiyle demografik özellikleri detaylıca açıklanmıştır. Yakın tarihte özellikle 2008 yılından sonra idari anlamda ilçe olan Sancaktepe, bu tarihten itibaren görülen nüfus artışı ve civar ilçelerden alınan göçlerle büyüyen şehirsel bir alandır. Bu bağlamda ilçenin idari yapısı göz önünde bulundurularak ana yerleşim özellikleri ele alınmıştır. İlçenin 19 mahallesinin mevcut yerleşim plan özellikleri, konut alanlarının yerleşim yerlerindeki dağılışı ve artan nüfus-yerleşme ilişkisi açıklanmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde Sancaktepe ilçesinin bulunduğu konumu nedeniyle önemli geçiş güzergahlarında yer alması ve görülen nüfus artış ve yoğunluğu neticesinde giderek geliştiği düşünülen ekonomik fonksiyonları açıklanmıştır. Özellikle idari fonksiyonunun gelişim nedeni, ulaşım ve gelişen sanayi fonksiyonları neticesinde İstanbul’un diğer ilçeleriyle oluşan bağlantısına dikkat çekilmek istenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuç kısmında gelişen Sancaktepe İlçesi’nin beşeri ve ekonomik coğrafya özelliklerini etkileyen süreç ve durumlar değerlendirilmiş, gelecekte ilçenin şehirsel büyüme ve gelişimi adına avantaj sağladığı düşünülen önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

This study, titled Human and Economic Geography Features of Sancaktepe District, is a master's thesis prepared with the methodology of human and economic geography in order to adequately explain the characteristics of the city. The thesis consists of 3 parts. In the first part, the general characteristics and location of the district are mentioned in the introduction, and the physical geographical conditions on which the district is established are also discussed. In this context, the physical characteristics of the settlement are mentioned. In the second part, within the scope of the human and economic geography characteristics of the district; First of all, it was deemed appropriate to focus on the historical development of the settlements, and the demographic characteristics of the district, due to its strategic location, historical routes and dense population, were explained in detail. Sancaktepe, which became a district in the administrative sense in recent history, especially after 2008, has become a growing urban area with the population increase seen since this date and immigration from surrounding districts. In this context, the main settlement features are discussed, taking into account the administrative structure of the district. The current settlement plan features of the 19 neighborhoods of the district, the distribution of residential areas in the settlements and the increasing population-settlement relationship are explained. In the third chapter, the economic functions of Sancaktepe district, which are thought to be gradually developing as a result of the population increase and density seen and the fact that it is located on important transit routes due to its location, are explained. In particular, attention is drawn to the connection with other districts of Istanbul as a result of the development of its administrative function, transportation and developing industrial functions. In the conclusion of the study, the processes and situations affecting the human and economic geography characteristics of the developing Sancaktepe district were evaluated, and suggestions were made that were thought to provide advantages for the urban growth and development of the district in the future.
