Evlilikte benlik genişlemesinin karma yöntemle incelenmesi

Abstract

Evlilikte benlik genişlemesi, bireyin evlilik ilişkisi aracılığıyla ve eşinin benliğini kendi benliğine katması yoluyla, benliğindeki olumlu içeriğin artması ve benliğini oluşturan unsurların olumlu yönde değişmesidir. Bu araştırmanın amacı evlilikte benlik genişlemesini karma yöntemle incelemektir. Keşfedici sıralı desen olarak tasarlanan araştırma sırasıyla nitel ve nicel aşamalardan oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın nitel aşamasında, evlilikte benlik genişlemesi, yorumlayıcı fenomenolojik desen ile incelenmiştir. Amaçsal örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme ile belirlenen on kişilik çalışma grubu, aile yaşam döngüsünün üç, dört ve beşinci evrelerinde bulunan ve evlilikte benlik genişlemesi yaşadığı düşünülen bireylerden oluşmaktadır. Yapılan yüz yüze derinlemesine görüşmelerden elde edilen veriler, MAXQDA 12 paket analiz edilmiştir. Nitel analiz sonucunda, evlilikte benlik genişlemesine ilişkin etkileşimsel, duygusal, fiziksel, beslenme, zihinsel, bağlamsal, duyusal ve manevî adlı sekiz ana tema belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca bu ana temalara bağlı toplam 18 alt tema ve 69 koda ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın ikinci aşaması olan nicel aşamada, nitel çalışmadaki bulgulardan yola çıkılarak ‘Evlilikte Benlik Genişlemesi Ölçeği (EBGÖ)’ geliştirilmiştir. Ölçeğin geçerliğini sağlamak için kapsam geçerliği, yapı geçerliği ve ölçüt geçerliği (N:42) çalışmaları yapılmıştır. Yapı geçerliği çalışmaları için açımlayıcı faktör analizi (N:305) ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (N:227) yapılmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenirliğini sağlamak için ise iç tutarlık katsayısı, test-tekrar test (N:52) ve madde analiz çalışmaları yapılmıştır. Bu kısımda analizler SPSS 22 ve AMOS 20 paket programlarında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sonuçta alanyazına geçerli ve güvenilir, evli bireylere yönelik, yedi alt boyutlu ve 36 maddeli ‘Evlilikte Benlik Genişlemesi Ölçeği (EBGÖ)’ kazandırılmıştır.Son olarak, araştırmaya ilişkin sonuçlar tartışılmış ve bu doğrultuda uygulayıcılar ve araştırmacılara öneriler sunulmuştur.

THE EXAMINATION OF MARITAL SELF-EXPANSION BY MIXED METHODMarital self-expansion is the increase of the positive content of the individual and the positive change of the elements that constitute the self through the marriage relationship and the addition of the spouse's self to his / her self. The aim of this research is to examine marital self-expansion by mixed method. The research, designed as an exploratory sequential design, consists of qualitative and quantitative stages, respectively. In the qualitative phase of the study, marital self-expansion was examined with an interpretive phenomenological design. The ten-person study group, which is determined by criterion sampling, one of the purposeful sampling methods, consists of individuals who are in the third, fourth and fifth stages of the family life cycle and are thought to experience marital self-expansion. The data obtained from the face-to-face interviews were analyzed using the MAXQDA 12 package program. As a result of the qualitative analysis, eight main themes related to marital self-expansion, namely interactional, emotional, physical, nutrition, mental, contextual, sensory and spiritual, were determined. In addition, a total of 18 subthemes and 69 codes related to these main themes were reached.In the quantitative stage, which is the second stage of the exploratory sequential design, ‘Marital Self-Expansion Scale (MSES)’ was developed based on the findings in the qualitative study. Content validity, construct validity and criterion validity (N: 42) studies were conducted to ensure the validity of the scale. Exploratory factor analysis (N: 305) and confirmatory factor analysis (N: 227) were performed for construct validity studies. Internal consistency coefficient, test-retest (N: 52) and item analysis studies were conducted to ensure the reliability of the scale. In this section, analyzes were carried out in SPSS 22 and AMOS 20 package programs. As a result, a valid and reliable ‘Marital SelfExpansion Scale (MSES)’ with seven sub-dimensions and 36 items for married individuals was added to the literature. Finally, the results of all stages of the research were discussed and recommendations were made to the practitioners and researchers accordingly.
