Abstract

Subsequently, a method based on isnād, rijāl, and thematic data is used to identify Saʿīd’s network of transmissions and clarify his scholarly position. Then, praises and criticisms about him, his travels, role in ḥadīth classification, and works are examined. The second part of the study uses focuses on Saʿīd's narrations and uses digitalized databases to draw conclusions about issues such as tadlīs, ikhtilāṭ, narration transmission forms, the sources and content of transmissions, Qadariyya, and his knowledge/ understanding of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence). This study takes a comprehensive approach to examining Saʿīd's life and hadith scholarship, with attention to his scholarly standing and relationships with significant figures of his time, notably his close teacher Qatāda bin Diʿāma, and close students Yazīd ibn Zurayʿ and Abdulwahhāb ibn Aṭāʾ. The study puts forth his expertise in fiqh and his strong memory, while shedding light on the accusations of the Qadariyya regarding his narrations
