Meslek liselerinin matbaa ve grafik bölümlerinde tipografi eğitiminin niteliği ve öğretme yöntemlerinin incelenmesi ve öneriler

Abstract

Matbaanın bulunuşuna kadar yazı, insan elinin beceriklilik ölçütlerindendir. Matbaanın bulunması ile yazılı malzemenin çoğaltılması yazının sanatsal güzellikle sınırlı kalmayıp bilim olması gerekliliğini de ortaya çıkardı. Böylece tipografi ve ona ait kurallar geliştirildi. Sonunda da matbaacılık ve grafik sanatların bir dallı oldu. Teknolojik değişimlere uğradı ve kapsamı genişledi. Tipografinin, bu gelişim sürecinde ara eleman gücünü yetiştiren meslek liselerinde verilen eğitimin de aynı paralellikte gitmesi gerekmektedir ki günümüzün tipografik tasarımlarında düzeyli çalışmalarla karşılaşalım ya da yüksek öğretime devam etmek isteyen öğrencilerin zorlanmadan eğitimlerine devam etmelerini sağlayalım. Bu çalışmanın yapılmasındaki temel amaç Meslek Liselerinde verilen tipografik eğitiminin niteliğini araştırmak ve düzeyini belirlemektir.İlk olarak verilen bazı temel bilgiler ve terminolojik açıklamalar ile elimizdeki tek kaynak olan Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'nın hazırlamış olduğu Müfredat ıklamaların ne derece örtüştüğü ve çeliştiğini ortaya koymaktır. Bu temel bilgilerin doğrultusunda Matbaa ve Grafik Bölümü öğrencilerine bir bilgi ölçüm anketi uygulanmıştır. 2 bölümden oluşan ankette tipografik terminoloji ve tasarım eğilimi bölümlerine yer verilmiştir. Böylece okullarımızda temel tipografik bilgilerin ne derecede verildiği, yeterli olup olmadığı gibi soruların yanıtları aranmıştır. Sonuç olarak mevcut olan müfredat programıyla kıyaslandığında anket sorularının basit olmasına karşılık ulaşılan sonuçların çelişkili yani başarının düşük olması,bazı uygulama ve teorik bilgilerin yetersizliği gibi sorunları ortaya çıkartmıştır. Bunların giderilmesi için başta maddi imkansızlıkların ortadan kaldırılarak eğitim malzemelerinin artırılması ve tipografi konusunda hem teorik yayınların geliştirilmesi hem de tipografinin benimsetilmesi gerekmektedir.Quality of Typography Education in the department of Printing and Graphic at Vocational Secondary schools', a survey of its methods of teaching and suggestions: Handwriting was a criterion for skills of human untill the invention of printing press. Dublication of written materials made the writing as a science not to be limited only the artistic beauty by the invention of printing. So typography and its rules were developed. Finally typography became a branch of printing and graphic arts. It was changed by technical developments and its scope was expanded. In this developing process of printing, education in Vocational Secondary Schools where train people (as a tecnicias), need to go with technology in a same way. Vocational Secondary Schools should supply the students with well education. In order to help the students who want to continue their higher education without difficulty or to come across high quality typographic designs which created by well educated people. The aim of this thesis is to search typography education and its method of teaching. We undertake a survey as a part of this study. The survey was conducted among Printing and Graphic Students. There is only one source about Typography Education, National Curriculum which was prepared by Ministry of National Education. The survey was conducted by means of questionnaire given to the students to complete. The first part of a questionnaire dealt with the typographic terminology which was covered by National Curriculum. Second part was included typographic designs and students were required to choose one of these reasons of their choice. The purpose of the survey was to discover how much basic typography education was given in the vocational secondary schools, whether it's enough or not.
