Abstract

Moderniteden postmoderniteye geçiş sürecinde günümüz televizyonun dönüşümünü, televizyondaki programcılık yaklaşımlarının betimleyici bir değerlendirmesi çerçevesinde tartışmayı konu alan tezimizin amacı, modernite ve postmodernite söyleminin televizyon anlatısıyla özellikle yapısal anlamda nasıl bir ilişki içine girdiğini ve bu ilişkinin ne gibi pratikler doğurduğunu sorgulamaktır. Televizyonun programcılık anlayışı ve anlatım biçimleri onu çevreleyen sosyo-politik, ekonomik, kültürel ve hatta teknolojik gelişmelerden bağımsız değildir; bütün bu biçimlenimler hep birlikte televizyonu yapısal olarak sürekli yeniden tasarlarlar. Bizim çalışmamız bağlamında bu çevresel faktörler modernite ve postmodernite ve ilkinden ikincisine geçiş süreci olarak tanımlanmışlardır. Modernite olarak ifade edilen dünya düzeni yirminci yüzyılın son çeyreğinde önemli bir dönüşüm süreci içine girmiş ve bu süreçle birlikte postmodernite olarak kavramsallaştırabileceğimiz yeni bir dünya biçimlenimini kendisini göstermiştir. Ortaya çıkışından beri modernitenin temel dinamikleri çerçevesinde kendini tanımlayan televizyon da bu dönüşüm sürecinden etkilenmiş ve bu da postmodernitenin söylemsel pratiklerinin post-televizyon olarak tanımlayabileceğimiz yeni televizyonun anlatım biçim ve olanaklarını yeniden düzenlemesine neden olmuştur.

TRANSFORMATION OF TELEVISION IN THE PROCESS OF TRANSMISSION FROM MODERNITY TO POSTMODERNITY: A DESCRIPTIVE EVALUATION OF PROGRAMMING APPROACHES This theses aims to discuss, with a descriptive method, the ways of interrelation between the discourses of both modernity and postmodernity and forms of television narration in order to interrogate the practices emerging from this relationship. As we concluded in this work, the conception of television programming and its narration forms are not independent from the socio-politic, economic, cultural and technological formations which surround them. These formations consistently recreate television structure. In this work, these surrounding factors are identified as modernity, postmodernity and the transition from one to the other. Modernity, as a condition of reality has faced a transformation process in the late 70’s, and by this process a new formation of world which can be conceptualized as postmodernity has showed up. The television which defines itself within the framework of modernity is obviously affected from that process and as a result of that and of the discursive practices of postmodernity, a new form of television, named as post-television, comes out which aims to develop alternatives in order to remove the limitations caused by the modernity
