Yahudi Müfessir Raşi : hayatı, eserleri ve görüşleri

Abstract

Rabbi Şlomo Yitshaki (Raşi, ö. 1105), Orta Çağ’ın en etkin Yahudi kutsal kitap yorumcularından biridir. Fransa’nın kuzeyindeki Troyes kentinde 1040 yılında doğan Raşi, hayatını Yahudi dini metinlerini yorumlamaya adamıştır. Tanah ve Talmud’a yazdığı tefsirlerle Raşi, 900 yılı aşkın bir süredir Yahudilerin kutsal kitap ve yorum algısını şekillendirmeyi başarmıştır. Yorumları Yahudiliğin hem teorik hem de pratik yönünün anlaşılmasında en sık başvurulan referans kaynakları arasındadır. Bugün elimizdeki standart Talmud edisyonlarında üç temel metin bulunmaktadır: Mişna, Gemara ve Raşi’nin Talmud Şerhi. Yazılı Tora’nın (Tanah) açıklaması Şifahi Tora (Talmud) iken; Raşi’nin Şerhi de Şifahi Tora’nın doğru açıklaması olarak görülmüştür. Bunun en temel nedeni ise Raşi’nin tefsirlerinin büyük oranda midraşik literatüründen yapılan alıntılardan oluşmasıdır. Tefsirlerinin dörtte üçü midraşik (deraş) olmasına karşın Raşi, literal yorum metodu “peşat”ın önemli temsilcilerinden biri olarak kabul görmektedir. Raşi’nin tefsir metodunu tanımlamak ilk bakışta kolay değildir. Nihayette onun tefsir metodolojisini “deraş”ı “peşat”la uzlaştırması çabası olarak okumak mümkündür. Raşi’nin midraşik karakterli tefsirleri geniş Yahudi kitleleri tarafından kabul görmüş ve yüzyıllarca Bet ha-Sefer, Heder ve yeşivalarda temel ders metni olarak okutulmuştur. Sinagoglardaki Haftalık Tevrat Okumaları (Paraşat ha-Şavua) da yine Raşi’nin yorumları eşliğinde icra edilmektedir. Bu çalışma Raşi’nin hayatını, eserlerini ve yorum anlayışıyla teolojik görüşlerini ele almaktadır.

Rabbi Shlomo Yitshakî (Rashi, d. 1105) is one of the most influential medieval Jewish biblical commentator. Rashi, who was born in Troyes, France, in 1040, dedicated his life to interpreting Jewish religious texts. With his commentaries on the Tanakh and Talmud, Rashi succeeded in shaping the Jewish perception of scripture and interpretation for over 900 years. His commentaries are among the most widely used reference sources for the understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of Judaism. The standard editions of the Talmud that we have today contain three main texts: Mishnah, Gemara, and Rashi’s Talmudic Commentary. If the Talmud is the explanation of the written Torah (Tanakh), then Rashi’s Commentary is considered to be the correct explanation of the written Torah (Talmud). The main reason for this is that Rashi’s Commentaries consist largely of quotations from midrashic literature. Despite the fact that three-quarters of his commentaries are midrashic (derash), Rashi is recognized as one of the most important representatives of the literal method of peshat. Although it is not easy to define Rashi’s method of exegesis, it is possible to read his exegetical methodology in general terms as an attempt to reconcile derash with peshat. Rashi’s midrashic commentaries were widely accepted by the Jewish masses and were taught for centuries as a basic course in Bet ha-Sefer, Heder, and yeshivas. The Weekly Torah Readings (Parashat ha-Shavua) in Synagogues are also performed with the accompaniment of Rashi’s commentaries. This thesis deals with the life, the works, the conception of interpretation and the theological views of Rashi.
