Publication: Siyasal seçim kampanyalarında internet ve sosyal medya kullanımı: Amerikan Demokrat Parti - Türkiye Ak parti örneği
Abstract
Sosyal medya ve internet son yıllarda siyasal seçim kampanyalarına entegre edilmeye çalışılmakta ve bu alanda başarılı örneklerle karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada internet ve sosyal medyanın siyasal seçim kampanyalarına nasıl entegre edildiği üzerinde durulmuş ve çalışma USA-Demokrat Parti – Türkiye-Ak Parti örneği üzerinden ele alınmıştır. Literatür taraması ve derinlemesine mülakat yöntemiyle ele alınan çalışmada siyasal iletişim ve seçim kampanyaları ile ilgili yazılmış tez ve makalelerden de faydalanılmıştır. Demokrat Parti’nin internet ve sosyal medyayı siyasal seçim kampanyasına başarılı bir şekilde entegre ettiği ve bu medya türünü geleneksel medyadaki seçim çalışmalarını destekleyici olmanın ötesinde kullandığı görülmüştür. İnternet ve sosyal medyayı başlı başına bir medya türü olarak kampanyasına entegre etmeyi başaran Demokrat Parti, seçim sonuçlarına doğrudan etki eden bir başarıya imza atmıştır. Ak Parti tarafında ise internet ve sosyal medya daha çok geleneksel medyayı destekleyici yönde ve profesyonel destek alınmadan kullanılmıştır. Ak Parti seçim kampanyası döneminde kendisini kurumsal bir şekilde konumlandıramamış ve kullandığı sosyal medya araçları da sınırlı sayıda kalmıştır. Bu doğrultuda Türkiye’de sosyal medya ve internetin seçim kampanyalarında profesyonelce ve verimli olarak henüz kullanılamadığını ifade edebiliriz.
Social media and internet are tried to be integrated into election campaigns by the political parties and they come up with successful samples in this field in the recent years. We analyse how internet and social media are integrated into political election campaigns and this study discusses on the sample of USA Democrat Party and Turkey AK Party. This study is analysed by the help of written artical and thesis about political communication and election campaigns with the technic of literature review and in-dept interview. It has seen that Democrat Party has integrated internet and social media successfully to their political election campaigns and they have used this type of media above and beyond of being supportive to their election campaigns. Democrat Party which succeed to integrate internet and social media all by itself as a type of media for their election campaigns grabbed a slice of history with this success which effected election results directly. On the Ak Party side, the internet and social media mostly was used to support traditional way of media without having professional support. Ak Party could not position itself as institutional way when they were in the election campaign and their social media tools stayed limited. In this direction, we can say that parties couldn’t use social media and internet professionally and effectively on political election campaigns in the Turkey yet.
