Abstract

To crate the religious history of Turkey the first provision is to write strong and detailed monografies about tariqats which appear in Turkey. These words which take place in foreword of Melâmilik ve Melâmiler written by Fuad Köprülü and Abdülbâki Gölpınarlı has impelled us to this study. Nureddin Cerrahi tariqats with its tekkes in Balkans and especially in Istanbul take place on a large geography during last 200 years. Because of this we have decided to investigate the three works that we could find at the libraries about Cerrâhilik. In the first episode of our thesis halvet, Ömerü'l-Halveti, Halvetilik and its branches had been introduced. The second episode is about the life of Nureddin-i Cerrâhi who is the spiritual guide (leader) of the tariqat; the third episode is about the regular customs and observances and methods of tariqats. In the fourth episode some parts of Cerrâhi tekkes had been handled. The tekkes which we observed are not changed from the founding to the last are Cerrâhi tekkes and the tekkes in Mecmua-i Tekâyâ and their numbers are eighteen. In the last episode , we investigated some works about Cerrâhilik.
