Abstract

One of the impotrant side of human is his economic and social side. At this mean urban and management are old as well as human history. Urbanization and local government are dynamıc side of urban, management and human history. The aim of this study is to investigate the local government-urban relations in the process of economic transformation. İn this manner the research has been investigate theoretically. The theoretical research consist of five part; First four part related to general human history and especially western societies, and lastly part related to Turkey. In the first part of the research; the consepts of economic transformation process, urban, urbanization, local government- urbanization continuity, western and non-western societies difference, ındustrializatıon- urbanization continuity and tendencies of decenralization- democratization have been described under the topıc Generally, Economic Transformation Process, Cenralization- Decentralization Management, Local Government- Urban Continuity and Urbanization and have been evaluated in the formation of local government -urban reletions. In the second part; economic formations and consructions of primitive societies, farming societies and basic features, production- consumption relations, urban and economy-government relations, economic, governmental and urban formations of the middle ages societies, feudalite and governmental constructions have been dealt. Also the local government, urban and governmöent relations have been examined in terms of tendencies and relations of centralization- decentralization. In the thırd part; the relations of economy, government and urbanization in the industry society have been studied. In this part, industry society, industry revolutıon and basic features have been dealt. Alsa the consepts of urban, urbanizatıon and local government relations, libaralism, capitalism, nation-state and democracy relations and centralization- decentralization tendencies have been examined. In the fourth part; the information society and basic features, globalizatıon-decenralization relations and democratization- decentralization tendencies have been studıed. İn this manner the topic has been investigate the mentalities and consructıons of economıc, socıal and government. This changes and developments have been interpreted related to globalizatıon, decentralizatıon and democratızatıon tendencies. In the lastly part; a research concernıng economıc, socıal and political-governmental features of Turkey. From Ottoman Empire to Republıce of Turkey, the social and poltical- governmental basıc features have been examined in terms of centralization- decentralizatıon relations, local government-urban, urbanization relations, democratization and globalizaton tendencies. The political- governmental mentalities, constructions and its basic features have been interpreted accordıng to farmıng, industry and information societies, western/ non-western societies difference and globalization, decentralization and democratizatıon tendencies.
