Fen bilgisi ve biyoloji öğretmen adaylarının üniversite ekoloji dersi öncesi ve sonrası çevre bilgileri ve tutumları

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı Biyoloji ve Fen Bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının üniversite sürecinde çevre bilgileri ve tutumlarındaki gelişmeyi belirlemektir. Araştırma Marmara Üniversitesi Atatürk Eğitim Fakültesi'nde, Biyoloji ve Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliğinde 123 birinci ve 93 dördüncü sınıf öğretmen adayları ile yapılmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının çevre bilgileri çoktan seömeli bir Kavramsal bilgi testi ile ve çevreye olumlu tutumları da Likert tipi bir tutum testi ile ölçülmüştür. Öğretmen adaylarının öğrenim geçmişleri ve çevre öğretimi hakkındaki görüşleri de sonuç değerlendirmelerini desteklemiştir. Veriler istatistiksel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuçlar, genel olarak, Biyoloji ve Fen Bilgisi Eğitimi öğretmen adaylarının üniversite eğitim sürecinde çevre bilgileri ve çevre tutumlarını geliştiremediklerini göstermiştir. Bu sonuç, öğretmen adaylarının lise ve üniversite eğitimi sürecinde çevre konularını kavramsal öğrenemediklerini, yaşamla ilişkilendirilerek uygulamalar yapılmadığı şeklinde yorumlanmıştır. The aim of this study is to determine development of the environmental knowledge and attitudes of the trainees in Biology and Science Education during university education. The research has been done with 123 first and 93 fourth year trainees of Biology and Science Education. The environmental knowledge of the trainees was measured with a multiple choice conceptual knowledge test and their positive environmental attitudes was measured with a Likert type attitude test. The information related to the educational background of trainees and their evaluation about environmental education was also used to support the results. The data was analized statistically. The results, in general, showed that the environmental knowledge and the environmental attitudes of the trainees in Biology and Science Education has not been developed through their university education period. These results, was evaluated as, neither the trainees learned the environment conceptually, nor applying the knowledge to real life situations throughout high school and university education.
