Hemşirelerin benlik saygısı ve atılganlık düzeylerinin belirlenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışma hemşirelerin, benlik saygısı ve atılganlık düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak Nisan-Mayıs 2002 tarihleri arasında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın evrenini; bu tarihler arasında İstanbul'da bulunan özel bir hastanede çalışan 130 hemşire oluşturmuştur. Çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden ve meslekte en az bir yıllık deneyimi olan 76 hemşire örneklem olarak alınmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında, araştırmacı tarafından literatür bilgisine dayalı olarak geliştirilen ve 20 hemşire ile pilot çalışması yapılan, hemşirelerin demografik özellikleri ve kişiler arası ilişkilerindeki davranış biçimlerini öğrenmeye yönelik Tanıtıcı Bilgiler Formu, Tufan ve Turan tarafından geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması yapılan Coopersmith Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği ve Voltan tarafından geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması yapılan Rathus Atılganlık Envanteri kullanılmıştır. Veriler, bilgisayarda SPSS programında yüzdeleme, tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA), student t testi, Mann-Whitney U testi, Tukey-HSD testi kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak; hemşirelerin üstleri ile ilişkilerinde, astlarından ve üstlerinden istekte bulunurken genelde nasıl davrandıkları, politika ve başkalarının başarıları konusunda ve olumsuz duygularını ifade ederken nasıl davrandıkları, hayatlarının kontrolünün kimde olduğu ile ilgili görüşleri, çalışma ortamındaki kişiler tarafından önemsenmediğini düşünme ve kendini önemsiz hissetme durumları ve beş yıl sonra kendilerini hangi konumda gördüklerine göre benlik saygısı ve atılganlık puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı farklılıklar belirlenmiştir. THE STUDY OF THE SELF RESPECT AND AUDACITY OF NURSES This study has been done, in the aim of determining the level of nurses' self-respect and audacity, between April-May 2002. One hundered and thirty nurses who work for a private hospital in İstanbul, have formed the universe of the study. Seventy six nurses, who accepted to take part in this study and who have had at least one year of experience, have been taken as examples (as precedent). To acquire the data, a Questionaire Form which was developed by the researcher, based on literature knowledge, where twenty nurses were used in a pilot study and which was aiming to find out nurses' demographic features and behaviaur types in relations among people; Coopersmith Self-Respect Scale whose validity and reliability study was done by Tufan and Turan and Rathus Audacity Inventory whose validity and reliability study was done by Voltan, have been used. All data were evaluated with the aid of a commercial statistical package (SPSS 10.0 for windows), which includes percentage, one sided variance analysis (ANOVA), student t test, Mann-Whitnet U test and Turkey-HSD test. As s result; statistically significant differences between the points of scale were found on topics such as how the nurses behave when they demand something from their superior or inferior ranks, how they communicate with their supervisors, what they think about the hospital policy, how they behave to express their negative feelings and the succes of others, their thoughts about who had the control of their lives, their feelings of appreciation and where they saw themselves five years later. According to these results the findings were discussed and suggestions were made.
