Publication: Bir klinikte çalışan hemşirelerin empati becerileri ve etkileyen faktörler
Abstract
Araştırma, hemşirelerin empati becerilerini ve etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak planlandı ve gerçekleştirildi. Çalışmanın evrenini 03.03.2008 ile 03.06.2008 tarihleri arasında, T.C. Sağlık Bakanlığı İstanbul Göztepe Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi’nin Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Kliniği’nin, Acil, İntaniye, Dahiliye, Süt Çocuğu, Cerrahi, Ameliyathane, Yenidoğan Prematüre ve Yenidoğan Yoğun Bakım servislerinde çalışan 101 hemşire ve sağlık memuru, örneklemini ise gönüllülük ilkesine bağlı kalınarak araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden toplam 96 hemşire oluşturdu. Verilerin toplanmasında araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan anket formu ve Prof. Dr. Üstün Dökmen tarafından geliştirilen Empati Beceri Ölçeği kullanıldı. Empati beceri ölçeğinde en düşük puan 40 ve en yüksek puan 219’dur. Veri analizinde SPSS 11.5 versiyonu kullanıldı. Çalışmada yaş ile empati arasında ters yönde bir ilişki bulundu. Ayrıca bekar olanların ve çocuk sahibi olanların empati beceri puanlarının daha yüksek olduğu görüldü. Empatiyi etkileyebileceğini düşündüğümüz cinsiyet ve öğrenim durumu gibi diğer etkenlerin empatiyi etkilemediği görüldü. Empathic Skills of Nurses in a Clinic and the Factors That Effect Them The study was designed and realized as a descriptive so as to determine the empathic skills of nurses and the factors that effect them. The 101 nurses working in the Child Health and Disease Clinic’s emergency, infectious diseases, internal medicine, infant, surgery, operating rooms, neonatal intensive care unit and new born services of Istanbul Göztepe Training and Research Hospital between 03.03.2008 and 03.06.2008 form the universe of this research. The sample of this universe consists of 96 nurses and health officers who are willing to contribute to the survey. Questionnaire created by the researcher and Empathic Skills Scale developed by Prof. Dr. Üstün Dökmen had been used in data collection. In Empathic Skills Scale the lowest score is 40 and the highest score is 219. Collected data were evaluated by SPSS-version 11.5. Inverse correlation between age and empathy was found in the study. Also, it is recognized that empathy skills point of the nurses who are single and who have children were higher than the others. Other factors like sex and educational status that thought to effect the empathy were not recognized to effect.
