Din felsefesi açısından evrim teorisi

Abstract

DİN FELSEFESİ AÇISINDAN EVRİM TEORİSİ Evrim Teorisi, bütün canlı türlerinin birbirlerinden değişmeleri suretiyle oluştuklarını söyleyen biyoloji alanı ile ilgili bir teoridir. Bu teorinin, felsefenin bir çok dalıyla beraber din felsefesi açısından da önemli sonuçları vardır. Bu tez, bu teorinin, genelde felsefe, özelde ise din felsefesi açısından sonuçlarını irdeleyen bir çalışmadır. 19. yüzyılda ortaya konan bu teori, ortaya konduğu ilk dönemden günümüze hem bilim, hem felsefe, hem de teoloji alanında birçok tartışmalara sebep olmuştur. Bu tartışmaların tanıtılması bu çalışmanın amaçlarından birisidir. Tezimizin ilk bölümünde, konumuzla ilgili gördüğümüz felsefe, bilim ve biyoloji tarihindeki gelişmeleri ve tartışmaları aktarmaya çalıştık. Böylece zihinlerde tarihsel bir perspektif oluşturmayı ve okuyucuyu Evrim Teorisi'nin sunumuna hazırlamayı hedefledik. Tezimizin ikinci bölümünde, Evrim Teorisi'nin ortaya konma sürecini aktarmaya gayret ettik. Teorinin ortaya konmasında önemli katkıları olan Lamarck, Darwin, Wallace, Huxley gibi kişilerin evrim anlayışlarını işledik. Genetikteki gelişmelerin, Evrim Teorisi'nin evrimini nasıl etkilediğini göstermeye çalıştık. Ayrıca bu teorinin ortaya konmasına ve kabulüne yol açan paradigmayı belirlemeye çabaladık. Tezimizin üçüncü bölümünde, Evrim Teorisi'ne karşı tavırları ve Tanrı inançları açısından kişileri nasıl sınıflandırabileceğimizi göstermeye çalıştık. Teistlerin, ateistlerin ve agnostiklerin bu teori ile ilgili yorumlarını ve kendi görüşlerimizi aktardık. Ayrıca Kutsal Metinler'de geçen ifadeler ile, bu teorinin çelişip çelişmediğini irdeledik. Tezimizin dördüncü bölümünde, Evrim Teorisi'nin felsefe ve bilimler açısından değerlendirmesini yapmaya çalıştık. Bu teorinin, bilim felsefesi alanında ortaya konan kriterleri ne kadar karşılayabildiğini belirlemeye çabaladık. Fosil-bilim, embriyoloji, genetik, mikro-biyoloji gibi bilim dallarındaki gelişmelerle, bu teorinin ve karşıt görüşlerinin ne kadar uyuşup uyuşmadığını inceledik. Canlıların bilinçli bir tasarımın ürünü olduğunu söyleyen tasarım kanıtını (teleolojik delil) ve konu ile ilgisini ayrıntılı bir biçimde ele aldık. Ayrıca natüralizmin, felsefe ve bilim açısından doğru bir görüş olup olmadığını irdeledik.

THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF PHILOSOPHY OF RELIGION Theory of evolution is a biological theory and it states that every living organism evolved from each other. This theory has very important consequences on many philosophical subjects. This thesis is a study which investigates the results of this theory generally on philosophy, specifically on philosophy of religion. This 19th century theory caused many debates on science, philosophy and theology. One of the aims of this thesis is to put forward these debates. In the first section of our thesis, we tried to present the debates in philosophy, which are related to our subject, with a historical perspective. In the second part of our thesis, we tried to show how the theory of evolution is put forward. We studied how Lamarck, Darwin, Wallace, Huxley, and etc. that have very important contributions to this theory, developed the theory of evolution. We also tried to present how the improvements on genetics affect the evolution of the theory of evolution. Also we tried to show the paradigm in which this theory is formed. In the third section of our thesis, we tried to present how we can classify people according to their attitudes to the theory of evolution and according to their beliefs in God. We presented the interpretations of theists, atheists and agnostics on this theory and tried to present where we stand. And apart from those, we examined whether this theory contradicts with the Scriptures. In the fourth section of our thesis, we tried to evaluate the theory of evolution from the perspective of philosophy and science. We tried to show how this theory can respond to the criteria which are put forward in the philosophy of science. We studied how the theory of evolution and the opposing ideas come in terms with the improvements in the areas like paleontology, embryology, genetics, and micro-biology. We tried to present the argument from design which states that all the living creatures are the result of an intelligent design and tried to show the connections to our subject. And we also studied whether naturalism is a correct view from the perspective of philosophy and science.
