Türkiye'de ücretli istihdam ve büyüme (1988-2013)

Abstract

Bir ülkede istihdam edilenlerin işteki durumları (employment status) ile o ülke- nin kalkınma seviyesi yakından ilişkilidir. Ücretli istihdamın toplam istihdam içindeki payı ile ekonomik büyüme ve gelişmenin aynı yönde hareket etmesi beklenir. Bu durum, büyüme ile birlikte istihdamın tarımdan sanayi ve hizmetler sektörlerine kayması dolayısıyla gerçekleşmektedir. Bu çalışmada Türkiyede 1988 2013 döneminde tarım, sanayi ve hizmetler sektörlerinde istihdamın işteki duruma göre yapısı ve değişimi in- celenmektedir. Ampirik analiz sonuçlarına göre, Türkiyede ücretli istihdamın toplam istihdam içindeki payının ve büyüme oranının ekonomik büyüme oranı üzerinde pozitif etkisi görülmektedir. Diğer yandan, kendi hesabına çalışanların artış oranı büyüme üzerinde anlamlı bir etkiye sahip görünmemektedir.

There is a close relationship between the level of economic development and employment status in the labor market. The share of paid employment and economic growth and development are expected to move in the same direction. This occurs with the shift of employment from agriculture to industry and services. The aim of this paper is to analyze the structure and change in employment status in agriculture, industry, and services sectors in Turkey in the period 1988-2013. The empirical results prove the positive effect of the share of paid employment on economic growth. Also,self- employment seems to have no significant effect on growth.
