Publication: Effects of knowledge management process on organizational innovation: an empirical research on top 500 ict firms in Turkey
Abstract
Son dönemin kendini Bilgi Çağı olarak tanımlamasından beri, firmalar ve içinde hayatta kaldıkları çevreler, değerlerdeki bu kritik değişimden etkilenmişlerdir. Bilginin sadece etkinliği ve verimliliği arttıran bir araç olmaktan öte artık sürdürülebilirliği sağlayabilecek en kritik kaynak olduğunun ortaya çıkmasıyla bilgi yönetimi, firmaların gündemlerinde en üst sıraları almaya başlamıştır. Buna ek olarak, rekabetin hiç olmadığı kadar arttığı bu dönemde yeniliğe duyulan ihtiyacın da sadece ürünsel veya hizmetsel boyutlarla kısıtlı kalmadığı aynı zamanda örgütsel boyutlara ulaştığı aşikardır. Bu araştırmanın amacı Türkiyede hizmet veren ilk 500 bilgi-iletişim teknolojileri firmasındaki bilgi yönetim performansının örgütsel yenilik üzerinde yarattığı etkiyi ölçmektir. Bu örneklem üzerinde yapılan araştırmaya katılım sağlayan 103 firmaya ait yöneticinin verdiği verilere dayanarak, bilgi yönetimi sürecinin örgütsel yenilik üzerinde anlamlı bir farklılığa yol açtığı ve pozitif yönde etkilediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
Since the latest era identified itself as the Knowledge Age, companies and the environment they survive in are effected from this critical change in values. With the fact that the knowledge came out to be not only a tool to improve the effectiveness and efficiency but the most critical source to provide sustainability, knowledge management began to appear at the top rows in companies’ agendas. In addition to that, in this period with the competition is higher than ever before, it is obvious that the need for innovation is not only limited with the products or services but reached to an organizational level at the same time. The purpose of this research is to measure the effect of knowledge management process on organizational innovation in the top 500 information communications technology firms that provides service in Turkey. Based on the data provided by the executives of the 103 participating firms, it is concluded that the knowledge management process has a significant and positive effect on organizational innovation.
