EĞİTİM FELSEFESİNİN YANSIMASI OLARAK ÖĞRENCİLERİN DEFTERLERİNİ ÇÖZÜMLEME: SOSYAL BİLGİLER DERSİ

Abstract

Türkiye‘deki Sosyal Bilgiler öğretiminin genel yapısı, hem teorikolarak, hem de Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretiminde kullanılan öğretim stratejileriile sınıf içi etkinliklerin tür ve nitelikleri boyutuyla pratik olarakincelenmiştir. Bir özel, iki devlet ilköğretim okulunda öğrenim görmekteolan 100 altıncı sınıf öğrencisinin sosyal bilgiler dersi defterlerinin vesosyal bilgiler çalışma kitaplarının incelenmesi pratik boyutun ortayakonulmasına aracılık etmiştir. Bundan başka defterler ve sosyal bilgilerçalışma kitapları öğrencilerin tarihsel bilgiyi oluşturma ve kaynaklarıdeğerlendirme ve kullanma süreçlerine hangi ölçüde katıldıklarınınbelirlenmesi amacıyla da incelenmiştir. Bu çerçevede sınıf içi etkinliklerinsonucu ortaya çıkan öğrenci çalışmalarından alınan örnekler,Türkiye’deki Sosyal bilgiler öğretiminin temel felsefesinin ne olduğunailişkin bir bakış açısının geliştirilmesine yardımcı olacaktır. Araştırmanınsonucu, örneklemde yer alan öğrencilerin bilginin inşası, kaynaklarındeğerlendirilmesi ve kullanımı süreçlerine etkin olarak katılıpkatılmadıklarını göstermektedir. 2005 İlköğretim Sosyal Bilgiler dersiöğretim programı ve kılavuzunda yeni programın vizyonunda özellikletemel demokratik değerlerle donanmış ve insan haklarına saygılı,yaşadığı çevreye duyarlı, bilgiyi deneyimlerine göre yorumlayıp sosyal vekültürel bağlam içinde oluşturan kullanan ve düzenleyen, sosyal katılımbecerileri gelişmiş, sosyal bilimcilerin bilgiyi üretirken kullandıklarıyöntemleri kazanmış, sosyal yaşamda etkin, üretken vatandaşyetiştirmek, vurgulanan nitelikler arasında yer almaktadır. Benzerniteliklere 2018 Sosyal Bilgiler dersi öğretim programında da atıftabulunulmuştur. Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde öğrencilerin bu niteliklerigeliştirmesi için öğretmenlerin ilerlemecilik eğitim felsefesi ve yapılandırmacı öğrenme kuramının temel ilkelerini özümsemiş olmasıgerekmektedir.

The general structure of social studies teaching in Turkey was examined theoretically and practically in terms of teaching strategies used in teaching social studies and type and characteristics of classroom activities. Examination of social studies notebooks and workbooks of 100 sixth grade students who are in a private two-state primary school shows the practical dimension. Also the social studies notebooks and workbooks were examined in order to determine to the extent how they participate in creating historical information and using the resources, and assessment of them. Samples of the students’ works’ll be helpful to improve a view about what the basic philisophy in teaching social studies in Turkey. The result of the search shows that the construction of knowledge of students, whether they participate in the process of assessment and usage of sources actively or not. In the 2005 Primary School Social Studies curriculum curriculum and guidelines, the vision of the new program is that the social scientists use information produced by the social scientists, especially those who are equipped with basic democratic values and respectful to human rights, who are sensitive to the environment they live in, who use and organize them in social and cultural context, and to educate active and productive citizens in social life are among the emphasized qualities. Similar qualifications have been found in the 2018 Social Studies course curriculum. In the social studies class, for the students to develop these qualifications, the teachers must have absorbed the basic principles of progressive education philosophy and constructivist learning theory.
