Publication: Yeni toplumsal hareketler bağlamında toplumsal cinsiyetin sunumu
Abstract
Bu çalısmada; yeni toplumsal hareketler içerisinde, Lambda Đstanbul eksenli escinsel hareketin, toplumsal cinsiyetin sunumu incelenmistir. Toplumsal cinsiyetin heteroseksist, üstelik erkek iktidar tarafından belirlenen bir anlayıs içerisinde, kendine çatlaklar açmaya çalısan lezbiyen, gey, biseksüel, travesti, transseksüel(LGBTT) bireylerin kendilerini ifade etmek, haklarını elde etmek daha da önemlisi kendi dünyalarını, kendilerini tanımaları açısından örgütlenmeleri önem tasımaktadır. Toplumsal cinsiyeti kurgulayan erkek heteroseksist anlayıs, iletisim araçları ve kurulan toplumsal iliskiler sayesinde belirlenmektedir. Đletisim araçlarının toplumsal iliskileri belirlediği, gerek yazılı gerek görsel bir çok simgeler aracılığıyla altını çizdiği toplumsal cinsiyet, özellikle feminizm düsüncesi sayesinde yeniden tanımlanmaya baslamıstır. Đletisim araçlarını elinde tutan seçkinler, toplumsal yasamın parçalanmasına izin vermemek adına, toplumsal cinsiyeti kurgularken, gelisen yeni iletisim araçları ve yeni hali ile toplumsal hareketler toplumsal cinsiyet kavramının yeniden sorgulanmaktadır. Dünyadaki LGBTT hareketi, yeni iletisim araçlarından alabildiğince yararlanırken, yeni toplumsal hareketlerinde en önemli dinamiklerinden biri olarak karsımıza çıkıyor. Türkiye’de çok yakın bir tarihte örgütlü bir biçimde hareket etmeye baslayan LGBTT hareketi, kamusal alanda LGBTT bireylere yönelik tartısmayı baslatmıs, yerlesik olan önyargıları, fiziki ve her türden saldırıya karsı bir durus sergilemeye baslamıstır. Đstanbul’da faaliyet gösteren Lambda Đstanbul, yıl içerisinde merkezlerinde yaptıkları etkinlik ve çalısmalar ile LGBTT bireyler arasında bir bilinç olustururken, her yıl Haziran ayı içerisinde gerçeklestirdiği Onur Haftası ile genis kitlelere ulasmaktadır. Lambda Đstanbul’un Onur Haftası ve Onur Yürüyüsü ile kamusal alanda LGBTT bireylerin görünürlüğü adına söz söylediği ve kendi hareket alanlarını yarattığını söylemek mümkün. This study examines the representation of “gender” by the homosexual movement, specifically by Lambda Đstanbul, among the new social movements. Within the heterosexist and male dominant understanding of gender, it is very crucial for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transvestite, transsexual (LGBTT) individuals who try to open cracks for themselves, to be organized in order to express themselves, to gain their rights, and more importantly, to know themselves and their own worlds. The male dominant understanding which constructs the gender relations is determined by the media and constructed social relations. Gender, which is constructed and underlined through many visual and written symbols by the media is reconsidered and redefined, thanks to feminist thought. While the elites, who control the media, construct gender in order to consolidate the social life, the emerging new media instruments and new social movements question the concept of gender. LGBBT movement in the world makes use of new communication methods as much as possible and also this movement is one of the most important dynamics of new social movements. The lgbbt movement, which started to set out organized in recent times, started the argument devoted to individuals in public area and also presented an attitude that is toward to all settled prejudices, physical and all kinds of attacks. Lambda Đstanbul, that has activities in Đstanbul, forms consciousness between LGBTT people with all studies and activities which were made in their offices during the year and also meets with the masses by “ Honour Week” that is organised in June every year. It s possible to say that Lamda Đstanbul talks in the name of LGBBT people’ seem in public area by “Honour Week” and “March of Honour” (Gay Pride) as well created its own movement areas .
