Phenomenological aspects of collider production of massivecolor-octet vector bosons

Abstract

Bu tez, Coloron kanalında SU(3)1×SU(3)2 uzantılı varsayımsal bir parçacık olan Coloron kütlesinin, Coloron kütle ölçeği ile uyumlu bir ölçekte çlepton+ jetlerine bozunarak yeniden yapılandırılmasını sunmaktadır. Tezin ilk kısmı Lagrangian terimine Coloron’un kuarklarla etkileşiminin eklenmesiyleLagrangian’ın iyileştirilmesini i¸cermektedir. Bu geliştirme, Coloron’un Standart Model ¸cer¸cevesindeki davranı¸sının daha doğru bir ¸sekilde tanımlanmasına olanak tanır. İkinci bölüm, simüule edilmiş olayların CMS verilerini kullanarak yeniden yapılandırılmasına odaklanmaktadır. This thesis presents the reconstruction of the Coloron mass, which is a hypothetical particle with a SU(3)1 × SU(3)2 extension, in the channel of the Coloron decaying into a lepton+jets at a scale compatible with the Coloron mass scale. The first part of the thesis involves improving the Lagrangian by adding the interaction of the Coloron with quarks to the Lagrangian term. This enhancement allows for a more accurate description of the Coloron’s behavior within the Standard Model framework. The second part focuses on reconstructing simulated events using the CMS settings. This involves signal and background analysis to detect Coloron in the t¯t semi-leptonic final state. A signal sensitivity of 2.8σ was achieved at a mass of 3 TeV
