Abstract
Elimizdeki en eski yazılı Türkçe metinlerden itibaren hemen hemen her eserde az veya çok karşımıza çıkan atasözleriyle ve deyimlerle ilgili özellikle Osmanlı Devleti’nin [1300-1922] son dönemlerinde birçok derleme kaleme alınmıştır. Bu çalışmada, bahse konu derlemelerden biri olan ve Türk Dil Kurumu Kütüphanesine Etüt/ 104-1 ve Etüt/ 104-2 numaralarıyla ve Atalar Sözü adıyla kayıtlı bulunan Çelebioğlu Abdülhalim Hakkı’nın iki ciltlik yazma eserinin 1. ila 538. sayfaları ele alınmıştır. Çalışma; Giriş ve Yöntem, Çelebioğlu Abdülhalim Hakkı’ya ve Atalar Sözü Mecmuası’na Dair, Metin, Dizin, Sonuç, Kaynaklar ve Ekler olmak üzere yedi bölümden oluşmaktadır. Yazılması 1898 Ağustos 22’den başlayarak en azından 1920 Kasım 12’ye kadar yirmi yılı aşkın bir süre ile devam etmiş olan Atalar Sözü Mecmuası, Arap harfleri temelli Osmanlı elifbası ile kaleme alınmış bir yazmadır. Eserin asıl metin kısmı; atasözü, deyim, vecize, mısra, beyit, dua ve kargış gibi yapılardan oluşan madde başları, madde başlarında geçen bazı kelimelerin açıklamaları ve madde başlarının geçtiği alıntılardan oluşmaktadır. Bu çalışmada; asıl metni meydana getiren madde başları, açıklamalar ve alıntılar tespit edilerek madde başları ve müellife ait açıklamalar Türkiye Türkçesine aktarılmış; alıntılar ise çeviri yazı ile Latin harfli olarak kaydedilmiştir. Alıntılar kaynak metinlerden tespit edilerek tahkik edilmiş, Türkiye Türkçesinde kullanılmayan kelimelerin anlamları ve kelimelerin yazmada kaydedilmiş farklı imlaları dipnotlarda gösterilmiş, gerekli görülen yerlerde açıklamalar yapılmıştır.
Many compilations have been penned about the proverbs and sayings that are more or less encountered in almost every work from the oldest written Turkish texts at hand, especially in the last periods of the Ottoman Empire [1300-1922]. This study, addresses pages 1 to 538 of the two-volume written work of Çelebioğlu Abdülhalim Hakkı, one of the said compilations numbered in the Turkish Language Institute’s Library as Etude 104-1 and Etude 104-2 under the name Atalar Sözü [=Proverbs]. The study, consists of seven sections: the Introduction and Method, about Çelebioğlu Abdülhalim Hakkı and Atalar Sözü Mecmuası, the Text, Index, Results, Resources, and Annexes.Atalar Sözü Mecmuası, written continuously over a 20-year period of time from August 22, 1898 until at least November 12, 1920, is a manuscript written with the Arabic-based Ottoman alphabet. The work’s main text part; consists of item headings formed from constructs such as proverbs, sayings, aphorisms, verses, couplets, prayers, and imprecations; from explanations of certain words taking place in the item headings; and from quotations where the item headings take place. The item headings and explanations of the author have been translated into the Turkish alphabet by identifying the item headings, explanations, and quotations that compose the main text; quotations have been recorded by translating the font using Latin letters. Quotations have been verified byidentifying them from the source texts. The meanings of words not used in modern Turkish and different spellings of words recorded in the writing have been shown in footnotes, with explanations being made where deemed necessary.
