Abstract
Sinus Paranasales Hacimsel Özelliklerinin İnce Kesit Kraniyofasiyal Bilgisayarlı Tomografi Görüntülerinde İnteraktif Segmentasyonu Yöntemiyle İncelenmesiAmaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı klinik açıdan oldukça önemli olan sinus paranasales’in hacimsel özelliklerini, bilgisayarlı tomografi ile elde edilen yüksek çözünürlüklü görüntülerin üç boyutlu rekonstrüksiyonlarını oluşturarak interaktif segmentasyon yöntemi ile incelemektir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Kraniyum patolojisi olmayan 20-40 yaşları arasında 40 kadın 40 erkek bireye ait ince kesit multidedektör bilgisayarlı tomografi görüntüleri retrospektif olarak; hacimsel özellikleri, örnek grubunun yaşı ve cinsiyeti açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Gözlenen varyasyonlar ve sinüs duvarlarındaki mukoza kalınlık değişimleri belirlenmiştir. Bilgisayarlı tomografi görüntüleri Imfusion Suite Demo programına aktarılarak interaktif segmentasyon yöntemiyle hacim ölçümü sağ ve sol olmak üzere gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bulgular: Çalışmamızda istatistiksel olarak gruplara bakıldığında sinus sphenoidalis için erkek bireyler arasında yaşa bağlı (p=0.0354), sinus frontalis (p=0.0033) ve sinus maxillaris (p=0.0104) için ise aynı yaş grubunda cinsiyete bağlı anlamlı bir fark gözlenmiştir.Sonuç: Sinus paranasales hacimlerinin ölçümü, incelenmesi ve analiz edilmesi klinik uygulamalar için bir harita oluşturacak ve uygulamalardaki hataların azalmasını sağlayacaktır. Kullanılan interaktif segmentasyon yöntemi ile, ölçümlerin daha kısa sürede yapılması, zaman tasarrufu sağlayarak klinikte günlük kullanıma uygun hale getirecektir. Türk popülasyonu üzerinde yapılan, bu genişlikte bir örnekleme sahip olan ilk araştırmanın sonuçlarının cerrahi girişimler için yol gösterici olması beklenmektedir.
Volumetric Properties of Paranasal Sinuses in Thin-Section Craniofacial Computed Tomography Images Using Interactive Segmentation MethodObjective: The aim of this study is to examine the volumetric properties of the paranasal sinuses in the craniofacial region by creating three-dimensional reconstructions of high-resolution images obtained by computed tomography by interactive segmentation method.Materials and Methods: Thin-section multidetector computed tomography images of 40 female and 40 male individuals between the ages of 20-40 without cranium pathology will be evaluated retrospectively. The volumetric characteristics of the paranasal sinuses will be evaluated in terms of the age and gender of the sample group. The observed variations and mucosal thickness changes in the sinus walls will be determined. Computed Tomography images were transferred to the Imfusion Suite Demo software and volume measurement was performed separately for the right and left by segmentation method.Results: In our study, a statistically significant difference was observed between male individuals for sphenoidal sinus (p=0.0354), and a gender-related difference was observed for frontal sinus (p=0.0033) and maxillaris sinus (p=0.0104) in the same age group.Conclusion: Measurement, examination and analysis of sinus paranasales volumes will create a map for clinical applications and reduce errors in practice. With the interactive segmentation method to be used, making measurements in a shorter time will save time and make it suitable for daily use in the clinic. It is expected that the results of the first study to be conducted on the Turkish population, with a sample of this size, will guide surgical interventions.
