Erenköy cemaatinde kadın sohbetleri : İçerenköy semti örneği

Abstract

Tarikatlar ve cemaatler müntesiplerinin dindarlık formlarını şekillendiren ve onların sosyalleşme imkanlarını artıran dinî gruplardır. Tarikat olma özelliğini koruyan Erenköy Cemaati de Türkiye’de Nakşibendî sûfîliğini temsil eden önemli dinî gruplardan biridir. Bu tezin konusu tasavvufî bir pratik olan sohbete dair etnografik biraraştırmadır ve tezin odak noktasını Erenköy Cemaatindeki kadın sohbetleri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın iki hedefi bulunmaktadır. Bunlardan birincisi, sohbetin antropolojik yöntemlerle tanınması, bir başka deyişle sohbetin nasıl deneyimlendiğinin ifade edilmesidir. İkincisi ise sohbetin modern şehir hayatında kadınların sosyalleşmelerine, sosyal sermaye edinme süreçlerine ve dindarlık düzeylerine etkilerinin tespit edilmesidir. Bu çalışmada tasavvuf geleneğinde sürekliliği olan ve bir âdâb literatürü aracılığıyla bu konumu güçlendirilen sohbetin söz, yazı ve hâlibuluşturan bir pratik olduğu vurgulanmıştır. Kadın sohbetlerinin, katılımcılarının sosyal çevresini ve sosyalleşme alternatiflerini belirleme gücüne sahip olduğu ve onlara manevî bir sığınak sunduğu görüşü tezin temel iddiasını oluşturmaktadır.

Sufi orders and religious communities are religious groups which define the forms of their followers’ piety and offer them new possibilities of socialization. Maintaining his form as a sufi order Erenköy Community is one of the most significant religious groups represent Naqshibandi sufism in Turkey. The subject of this thesis is anetnographic study of a sufi practice named sohbet and the main focus of the thesis is women’s sohbet gatherings in Erenköy Community. The study have two aims: The first, understanding sohbet with the methods of anthropology, in other words, explanation of how sohbet is experienced by its participants. The second aim is to determine to impacts of sohbet on women’s socialization in modern urban life, their processes of obtaining social capital and their piety levels. In this study, it is emphasized that having continuityin sufi tradition and strengthened position through its adab literature sohbet is a practice consists of utterance, text and disposition. The main argument of this study is that women’s sohbet gatherings has the power of determining the social environments of participants and their alternatives of socialization and furthermore, offer them a moral shelter.
