NEDENSELLİK BAĞLAMINDA EBÜ'L- BEREKÂT EL-BAĞDÂDÎ'NİN MEŞŞÂÎ GELENEK İÇİNDEKİ YERİ

Abstract

12. yüzyıl ilim ve kültür merkezî Bağdat'ta yaşamış olan ve Meşşâî felsefeye yönelttiği önemli tenkitleriyle tanınan filozof ve tabip Ebü'l-Berekât el-Bağdâdî , ilerleyen yaşında İslamiyet'i seçmiş Yahudi asıllı bir filozof olarak felsefî düşüncenin evrensel ve birikimsel yapısının en çarpıcı örneklerinden biridir. Özellikle Aristotelesçi felsefeye yönelik eleştirileri ve Sünnî akideye uygun görüşleriyle öne çıkan Ebü'l Berekât el-Bağdâdî'nin, felsefenin merkezî konularından biri olan nedensellik hakkındaki görüşlerinin ve bu bağlamda Meşşâî gelenek içindeki konumunun tespiti ve değerlendirmesi, bu makalenin konusunu oluşturmaktadır.

Abu'l-Barakât al-Baghdâdî (1077-1152), who lived in Baghdad, the center of science and culture in 12th century, and who is a philosopher and physician, well-known with his considerable critiques to peripatetic philosophy, constituted one of the most remarkable samples of universal and cumulative structure of philosophical thought, as a Jewish philosopher originally but in his later ages converted to Islam. The subject of this article comprises the thoughts of Abu-l Barakât el Baghdâdî, prominent with his critiques towards Aristotelian philosophy and his ideas compatible with sunnite creed, in the causality context, one of the central issues of philosophy, and determining his position in the peripatetic tradition and evaluating in this respect.
