Abstract

İBN ŞİHÂB ez-ZÜHRÎ’NİN TARİHÇİLİĞİ ÖZET İbn Şihâb ez-Zührî’nin Tarihçiliği başlığını taşıyan bu çalışma, Zührî’nin İslâm tarihçiliğindeki yerini rivayetlerinden yola çıkarak tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu sebeple öncelikle Zührî’nin rivayetleri belirlenmiş akabinde ise bu rivayetler tasnif edilerek değerlendirilmiştir. Tez giriş ve üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş kısmında Zührî’nin hayatı ile tarih metodu ele alınmıştır. peygamberler tarihi, câhiliye dönemi ve Mekke dönemiyle ilgili nakillerine ayrılmıştır. Zührî’nin rivayetlerindeki en büyük yekûnu teşkil eden Medine döneminin ele alındığı ikinci bölümde ise Hz. Peygamber’in hicretinden sonrasına ait haberler ‘sosyal hadiseler’ ve ‘siyâsî hadiseler’ şeklinde iki altbaşlıkta incelenmiştir. ‘Sosyal hadiseler’ altbaşlığı, hicretle birlikte Medine’de gerçekleştirilen değişimler ile sahabenin evlilikleri ve vefatlarıyla ilgili nakilleri içerirken; ‘siyasi hadiseler’ altbaşlığında gazve ve seriyyeler başta olmak üzere Medine İslâm devletinin resmî faaliyetleri incelenmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise Hulefâ-yi Râşidîn ve Emevîler döneminin Zührî’nin rivayetlerinde ne şekilde yer bulduğu gösterilerek konuyla alakalı rivayetler değerlendirilmiştir. vayetler IBN SHIHÂB al-ZUHRÎ as a HISTORIAN

This study, which is titled as Ibn Shihâb al-Zuhrî as a Historian, aims to comprehend Zuhrî’s significance in historiography of Islam by emphasising his narratives. For this purpose, by starting with specification of those narratives of Zuhrî, this research continues with the classification and examination of the narratives. The thesis consists of an introduction section and three chapters. In the introduction section, Zuhrî’s life and his methodology of history are presented. First chapter focuses on Zuhrî’s narratives regarding the history of prophets, the Arabs before Islam, and the Meccan period. In the second chapter, the Medina period, which forms the most extensive part of Zuhrî’s narratives, is emphasised. In this chapter, the narratives are examined under two sub-titles as ‘social events’ and ‘political events’. The subtitle of ‘social events’ covers the changes happened in Medina following the Prophet Muhammad’s hijrah and the marriages and deaths of his companions. Within the sub-title of ‘political events’, the official activities of Islamic State in Medina are discussed by paying special attention on the military expeditions and campaigns of the Prophet Muhammad. In the third chapter, the reports of Zuhrî about the Rashidun Caliphs and Umayyad period are discussed. Ibn Shihâb al-Zuhrî, Report
