Publication: Çevre sorunları ile mücadelede akıllı kent uygulamalarının rolü
Abstract
Kentler, İlkçağdan günümüze kadar geçirdiği tarihi dönüşümün ardından çevre sorunlarıyla mücadele konusunda önemli bir dönemeçte bulunmaktadır. Hızla artan nüfus, sanayileşme, fosil kaynak kullanımı, doğal ekosistem tahribine yol açan uygulamalar gibi birçok neden, kentlerin çevre sorunlarıyla karşı karşıya kalmasına yol açmıştır. Bu sorunların çözümüne ilişkin gelişen teknolojiyle birlikte akıllı kent uygulamaları, önemli bir potansiyel oluşturmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda çalışmanın konusu da çevre sorunları çözümünde geliştirilen akıllı kent uygulamalarıdır. Çalışmanın amacı, akıllı kent uygulamalarının çevre sorunlarında oynadığı rolü ve getirdiği etkiyi ele almaktır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi kullanılarak, Türkiye’den 7 ve dünyadan 7 olmak üzere toplam 14 kent incelenmiş ve 140’tan fazla akıllı kent uygulama örneği değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, akıllı kent uygulamalarının çevre sorunlarına olan etkisini ortaya koymuştur. Çalışma bulguları 14 kent ile sınırlıdır. Akıllı kent uygulamalarının çevre sorunlarının çözümündeki etkisinin değerlendirilmesiyle çalışmanın, literatüre katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.
Cities are at a significant turning point in combating environmental problems following the historical transformation they have undergone from ancient times to the present. Many reasons such as rapidly increasing population, industrialization, fossil resource use, and applications that lead to the destruction of natural ecosystems have led cities to face environmental problems. Smart city applications, together with the developing technology for the solution of these problems, create significant potential. In this context, the subject of the study is smart city applications developed in the solution of environmental problems. The aim of the study is to address the role played by smart city applications in environmental problems and their impact. Using document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, a total of 14 cities, 7 from Turkey and 7 from the world, were examined and more than 140 smart city application examples were evaluated. The findings obtained revealed the impact of smart city applications on environmental problems. The study findings are limited to 14 cities. It is thought that the study will contribute to the literature by evaluating the impact of smart city applications in the solution of environmental problems.
