Publication: Bilgi teknolojilerindeki gelişmeler ışığında arşivci’nin değişen rolü
Abstract
Bilgi teknolojileri özellikle son 10 yılda çok hızlı bir gelişme sağlamış ve bu gelişmeler özellikle arşivcilik meslek sahasını etkilemiştir. Mesleki ilerlemenin temeli olan değişimi yakalamak mesleki gelecek açısından çok önemlidir. Bilgi teknolojilerindeki gelişmeler kurumsal yapı içindeki belge üretim, depolama, iletim ve paylaşma anlayışlarında önemli değişmelere sebep olmakta, geleneksel belge yönetim anlayışları yerini modern yönetim anlayışlarına bırakmaktadır. Buna bağlı olarak kağıt belge dışında yoğun bir şekilde yönetilmesi gereken bir belge türü yani elektronik belgeler ortaya çıkmıştır. Yani belge üretim, depolama ve iletimi yoğun bir şekilde elektronik ortamda yapılmaya başlandı. Bütün bunların doğal sonucu olarak arşivcinin rollerinde de değişmeler olmuştur. Arşivcinin kurumsal yapı içindeki önem ve etkinliğini arttırmıştır. Bununla birlikte arşivcinin bilgi teknolojileri uygulamalarını başarıyla yerine getirebilmek için mesleki altyapısını zenginleştirmek ve değişimin gerektirdiği becerilerini kazanma zorunluluğu doğmuştur.
Information technologies have undergone rapid development especially in the last decade. Developments in information technologies especially affect the archive profession. Keeping up with the changes which are the basis of professional improvement is very important for the future of any profession. Developments in information technologies have caused changes in the way of creating, storing, sending and sharing records and traditional records management has been replaced by a modern understanding of records management. However a new records form, apart from paper records, called electronic records, which needs to be managed has come in to being. Consequently, records creation, storage and sending commonly have begun to be intensively carried out in the electronic media. As a natural result of all these, changes have also occurred in the role of archivist. The importance and the effectiveness of the archivist in the organization have increased. Moreover, the archivist in order to carry out information technology applications successfully must improve professional substructure and gain the skills that changes require.
