Abstract
Digital journalism in Turkey via online arts and culture blog sites The widespread use of the internet has led to profound transformations in the publishing industry. While the scope and reach of print publishing have narrowed, formats such as newspapers, magazines, and fanzines are increasingly moving to digital platforms. With rapid technological advancements, traditional publishing has found its place in digital media, undergoing positive transformations. Increased speed of access to information, low costs, and easy accessibility are among the key factors that make digital publishing preferable. The expansion of internet access has enabled individuals to produce content regardless of socio-economic differences. Platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok facilitate the production of thousands of new pieces of content worldwide each day. In addition, online blog sites have also gained a significant position in content creation. Offering diversity in themes and topics, blog sites stand out particularly in cultural and artistic publishing. Activities that were previously carried out through magazines, newspapers, and fanzines have now been adapted to the digital environment, which offers lower costs and faster production opportunities. Content produced on themes such as music, cinema, and sports is shared with the aim of reaching more readers and increasing click rates. In the highly competitive field of online publishing, originality, speed, accessibility, and continuity have become prominent values. The aim of this study is to examine the impact of online culture and arts blogs in Turkey on digital publishing and to analyze, within the framework of the Uses and Gratifications approach, the content production processes of publishers and the motivations of followers using a quantitative research method. Within the scope of the research, Likert type survey method was applied to 338 participants.
