Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde deprem konusunu işbirlikli öğrenme yöntemi ile öğretimin etkinliğinin araştırılması

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim beşinci sınıf sosyal bilgiler dersi doğal afetler ünitesinin deprem konusunun öğretiminde işbirlikli öğrenme yöntemi ile geleneksel yöntemlerin (aktarım, soru-cevap) öğrenci başarısı ve hatırda tutma düzeylerine etkilerini araştırmaktır. Araştırma 2001-2002 eğitim öğretim yılının 2.döneminde İstanbul ili Kağıthane ilçesinde bulunan Harmantepe İlköğretim Okulu'nda okuyan 62 öğrenci üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu öğrencilerden 30'u deney grubunu 32'si kontrol grubunu oluşturmuştur. Araştırmacı tarafından başarı testi hazırlanmış ve her iki gruba da ön test, son test ve kontrol test olarak uygulanmıştır. Uygulama 5 ders saati sürmüştür. Uygulanan testlerden elde edilen bulgulara göre; işbirlikli öğrenme yönteminin uygulandığı deney grubunun başarı ve hatırda tutma düzeylerinin geleneksel yöntemin uygulandığı kontrol grubuna göre daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

The aim of this research is to study the effects of Cooperative Learning Technique vs. Traditional methods (directly explanation, questions - answers) on the improvement of the student's success and keeping in mind at Primary School 5th class of Natural Disasters unit at Social Science Lectures. The research is performed with the 62 students of Harmantepe Primary School at Kağıthane, Istanbul at the 2nd semester of 2001-2002 educational years. 30 students were used as the experimental group whereas the 32 students were accepted as the control group. A success test was prepared by the researcher and it was given to groups as pre-test, end-test and control-test. The practices were done during 5 lectures. The results of the given test showed that the success and keeping in mind of the group treated with cooperative learning method was higher then the group treated with the traditional methods.
