Abstract
Osman Şems Efendi, 19. asır Türk şiirinin önemli bir şairidir. 1814-1893 yılları arasında yaşayan şairin hayatı hakkında bildiklerimiz sınırlıdır. Aldığı medrese eğitiminin ardından kısa bir süre tütüncülük yaptıktan sonra değişik bazı devlet memurluğu görevlerinde bulunmuştur. Şairliğinin yanı sıra dönemim önemli bir mutasavvıfı olan Osman Şems Efendi, gençliğinde Nakşîbendiyye ve ardından Halvetiyye tarikatlerinden başladığı seyr u sülûkünü KÀdiriyye’den tamamlayarak bu tarikatin Enveriyye kolunu tesis etmiştir.Dolayısıyla yapılan bu çalışma, Türk şiiri tarihi için olduğu kadar tasavvuf tarihi için de önemi haizdir. Bu çalışmada, Osman Şems Efendi’nin en önemli eseri olan dîvânının, biri yurt dışında olmak üzere 10 nüshasına ulaşılmış; tespit edilen bu nüshalar ayrı ayrı tanıtıldıktan sonra altısının karşılaştırılması suretiyle dîvânın tenkitli metni ilmî usullerle ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışmanın inceleme kısmında ise şairin hayatı, eserleri, edebî ve tasavvufî şahsiyeti hakkında bilgi verilmiş; dîvânın şekil, muhteva, dil ve üslûp özellikleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Böylece Osman Şems Efendi’nin ve eserlerinin klasik Türk edebiyatındaki yeri ve önemi belirtilmeye çalışılmıştır. Osman Şems Efendi, klasik Türk edebiyatı, şair, Türk şiiri.
Osman Şems Efendi is one of the important poets in XIX. Century Turkish poetry. We have very limited information about his life who lived in 1814-1893. After his education in madrasa, he worked as a tobacconist, then got some kind of civil services in the state. Besides being a poet, he was one of the important sufi (mystic) in that period. Osman Sems Efendi started his mystic path (seyr u suluk) through joining to the Naqshbandiyya and Khalwati order while he was youth, then fulfilled it in the Qadiriyya order and founded the branch of Enveriyye in this tariqa (sufi path). Therefore, this research is important not only for the history of Turkish poetry but also history of the Tasawwuf (Islamic mysticism). In this treatise, it has been attained to 10 editions which one of them was abroad of the Divan that is the most important work of Osman Şems Efendi. Each of the editions was acquainted and put forth a critical edition of the work by comparing the six editions. It has been given information about life of the poet, his works, and his character of literature and sufi in the first part of this research. Then it has been examined manner, content, lingo, and style of the Divan. It has been tried to point out to place and importance of Osman Şems Efendi and his works in classical Turkish Literature.
